Matthew Knowles Sues Tabloid For “Knowingly And Maliciously Misrepresenting” His Relationship With Beyonce And Blue Ivy
The Sun has unleashed the wrath of big-time music manager and Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, with a March 2013 article that references Knowles being upset about his relationship with Beyonce and that he had not yet met baby Blue Ivy.
The article also suggested that Knowles was deeply hurt by Beyonce’s decision to hire new management for her new sound and image, stating that Knowles was, “hurt that Beyonce has cut him out of her life.”
Knowles had this to say about the misprint:
“My daughters and my family mean the world to me. The barrage of repeated falsehoods spawned by the British Sun‘s defamatory article has been exhausting and personally damaging to me. No matter how many papers it sells or web hits it generates, The Sun, like any newspaper, needs to maintain a basic level of journalistic integrity.”
It has been rumored for years that a rift has been growing between Beyonce and her father and we’re a little curious as to how deep it goes remembering her words about him during her highly anticipated HBO documentary.
When asked, “Did you get your dad back?” by an interviewer who was referencing Beyonce’s relationship with her father after they ceased to do business together Beyonce’s response was short and sweet:
“No. I had to sacrifice my relationship with dad. I had to let go.”
I’m wondering if Matthew Knowles really might have said some of the things that The Sun published but felt remorseful later? Hm… Only time will tell.
Do you think this was a misprint on The Sun’s part or the regret of a father who may have aired out his feelings to the wrong party?
