A quick primer: negotiated and signed by a couple prior to their marriage, the prenup details what the couple’s expectations are should things go sour. It commonly includes provisions for the division of property and spousal support in the event of a divorce. In order for a prenuptial agreement to be “done correctly,” both the husband-to-be and the wife-to-be must be represented by their own separate attorneys.
