If you’ve never heard Bounce music, you will be in for a treat with a new and, likely, outrageous show.

Fuse TV has officially signed on to air Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce this fall, according to Black Voices. Freedia, the most well-known dancer and “singer” of Bounce music, is from New Orleans and plans to give the masses all the entertainment they can take.

Freedia’s real name is Freddie Ross and he has traveled all over the world as “Big Freedia,” to introduce Bounce music. Bounce is a mix of all the traditional new Orleans music with a twist and rap music. The core detail in bounce music is that it almost always includes call-and-response lyrics.

Freedia says that he is excited about the show but it isn’t without its issues:

“I’m very excited to have the spotlight on bounce music and culture.  I won’t lie though. Having cameras on you all the time is stressful, and this show is not short on drama.”

If you’ve ever been able to witness a “bounce off,” so to speak, you already know that the dancing can get very intense. With Freedia being the one on top right now, he probably deals with it more than most.

If you’re not familiar with Bounce music, we’re going to leave you with one of Big Freedia’s videos. Do us a favor and don’t watch it at work – that’s likely not the best idea.

Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce will premiere on Fuse TV September 18th.  Will you check it out?
