That Was Easy: Former WNBA Star Won’t Spend A Day In Jail After Pleading Guilty To Multiple Charges
She may have gone wild but a former WNBA star will not be going to jail for it.
Do you remember a few months ago when we told you about Chamique Holdsclaw going crazy on her ex-girlfried, Jennifer Lacy, by threatening her, shooting a gun in her car and also ruining it by beat it with a baseball bat? Well, a guilty verdict could have had her facing 65 years in prison on multiple charges.
Luckily for Holdsclaw, pleading guilty yields different results. TMZ learned that the 35 year old former pro basketball player plead guilty to two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of criminal damage, and one count of illegal firearm possession.
But she won’t spend a day in prison.
That’s right, under the terms of the plea, Holdsclaw received three years’ probation, a $3,000 fine and is not allowed to possess a gun for the next three years. She also has to stay away from Lacy, attend and complete anger management classes and complete 120 hours of community service.
It must be nice to live in a place like Atlanta, do all of that and still pretty much get off scott free. In cities like New York City, gun charges are very serious and automatically get you a jail sentence. Maybe she had one heck of a lawyer as well.
Hopefully, Chamique Holdsclaw gets her anger (and likely, obsession) under control and do something more positive. She was an amazing basketball player so it would be good to possibly see her working with younger basketball players to her hone their skills.
