Never Had A Bad Hair Day In Their Lives: Celebs Whose Manes Are Always On Point

July 5, 2013  |

It’s not easy to always  be on point in Hollywood. Virtually anybody can look their best on a red carpet — if they want to — but these women here have managed to keep their manes perfectly coiffed whether they’re going to an event, chilling on the beach, or picking up groceries up the block. They know the hairstyles that work for them and whenever they switch up their styles it’s a win. Here are the celebrity women who we’ve never seen have a bad hair day.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Or the queen of the curls as I’d like to call her. OK, I’m going to go ahead and say it out loud, we have seen Tracee with a bad hair day, it was back when she was on Girlfriends and it was all too apparent the stylist on payroll didn’t know what to do with her locks. But ever sine that show was cancelled, Tracee’s curls have been on point, whether out and wild or soft and romantic.

Taraji P. Henson

Taraji always rocks some variation of a bob and that’s because it works! She’s gone asymmetrical, long and sleek, medium and choppy — however she wears this style, her hair always has plenty of body and frames her face perfectly.

Eva Pigford

Halle may be the crowned queen of the pixie, but Eva would certainly give her a run for her money if she was more mainstream. We’ve rarely seen Eva’s hair past her ears, except for a few bouts with box braids and a long weave once, but when Eva does what just comes natural — a short head of blond waves and curls — it’s impeccable.

Teyonah Parris

I was first tipped off to Teyonah at the SAG awards earliest this year when she had the most intricate natural updo I’d ever seen. But when I scrolled through a gallery of her pics, it was clear rocking beautiful hair is what she does. Have you seen how thick and lush her tresses are? The hair envy is so real!

Michelle Obama

We would expect nothing less from the First Lady of the United States, but Michelle Obama’s hair is always more than just done, it is laid! Like Taraji, Mrs. O knows the bob works for her, but she also knows how to switch it up with a few pin curls here and there and even those fabulous bangs America had a fit over. Good move FLOTUS.

Malinda Williams

Name a time when her short crop cut wasn’t sharp. Malinda stays with a low cut and it is absolutely the best move for her petite frame. We approve!

Nia Long

Nia Long’s hair usually lives somewhere between bob and pixie and at either length it’s gorgeous. With skin like that and her overall beauty, it really shouldn’t be hard to find a look that works for her, but what we love is that she never drops the ball. If she decides to go left with an 18-inch weave, you better believe it’s laid.

Teyanna Taylor

Call me crazy, but I actually thought Teyanna’s head full of curls was hers. This G.O.O.D music singer has been rocking a bushel of wild curls since we saw her on Sweet 16 back in the day, and every time she steps out, the hair is right. Sometimes she goes soft and playful, other times the locks are spiraled, whichever way she does it, we’re jealous.

Tatyana Ali

Tatyana Ali

Tatyana’s another member of the bob crew. Though we all remember her with hair down to her butt on The Fresh Prince, once “Ashley” grew up, she started wearing shorter styles more appropriate for a young 30-something. The actress loves a sleek ‘do and we love that she plays with it, switching between straight locks and longer waves.

Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana

Zoe knows what works for her — soft beach waves. So even though there isn’t much variety when it comes to her hair, the girl gets points for making sure what works for her looks fantastic.

Solange

The woman likely responsible for at least 1,000 or so girls doing the big chop, Solange sparks major hair envy every time she steps out of her house, let alone onto a red carpet. We love the medium-sized natural fro she rocks on a regular day, but our jaws always drop when she sews in a few extensions and has super big natural curls at events.

Olivia

Olivia’s time on this past season of Love & Hip-Hop may have gotten cut a little short, but whenever we saw her, that mane was fire. Olivia loves to play with color and we are obsessed with the blonde highlights she switches up throughout her tousled curls.

Queen Latifah

Whether she’s wearing an updo, or these long, loose curls, Queen Latifah’s hair is always royally styled. And did we mention we love this color on her? It’s been a staple of the Queen’s for a few years now and we love that she sticks with what’s tried and true.

Tanika Ray

Yaaaas! Tanika Ray’s got personality and it shows through perfectly in her hair. We love that she’s bold enough to go natural on the red carpet, but what we love even more is that her curls and color are always exactly right when she does it.

  • The hairstyle, but sometimes I think if I tried it should look like that? Oh, I can not imagine it all.

  • Monssieur

Teyonah looks like she has a turd on her head.

    • MsLadyE

      LOL!!

    • Say it

Best looking turd I’ve ever seen, she working it, unlike what we can say for you.

  • cryssi

    WAIT!!!!!!! That’s not Teyanna’s hair?

    • TraceFace

That is mostly her hair. Like Solange, she adds pieces for length and volume. Google articles about her hair, where she talks about adding length and protective styles.

  • Alexis Morris
