Happily married funny lady Niecy Nash wants to help out the single ladies, so she’s offering some great (and realistic) dating advice in her new book, It’s Hard to Fight N*ked. During a recent interview with CocoaFab, the Soul Man actress revealed that she believes that her journey and relationship success could be helpful to other women, which is what helped to inspire her book.

“I feel like love is the thing we were created for, yet it’s the place we struggle the most. And I feel like if any of my experience, my stories, my failures, my successes could help the next woman in her journey, I feel like I owe that to women, you know, and men too, because I wanted the people that I love to have rich, full relationships and as I started helping them I decided to cast a wider net, Niecy revealed.

When asked what the ideal outcome would be for women who read her book, she responded:

“My intent is for you to get the relationship you deserve!”

Niecy was also sure to stress the “you are what you attract” philosophy.

“Well, there are multiple nuggets or items that you’d call takeaways in the book. It just depends on where you are in the love journey what is going to resonate with you. If you’re right at the beginning I would tell you to be what you want to see, because inevitably you are going to attract what you are. And so if a whole bunch of crazy people keep showing up then get up and look in the mirror and say, ‘Good morning, crazy!’ Because something ain’t right. And then if you’re a little further down the road and you’re prepared to go out and date, I would encourage you to date for your priority, not for your preference. And then if you’re a little further down the road I would probably tell you some things that you can do to keep your man out of the streets and in your sheets!”

What do you think of her tips?

I said the saaame thing, she didn’t even break it down lol smh…I can only guess…date for what you need, not want..?

I think she means if you want to get married then date men that are marriage material……not because he is handsome or tall…..if that’s your preference date outside preferences.

Why y’ll use this picture of Auntie Niecy? Makeup looking crazy and her safety pin sticking her in the boob.

You are what you attract is good advice. Men, if all you get is cheating hoes then you might be acting and dressing like cheating hoe bait. Women, if all you get are lying, trifling men then you know what you’re acting like. Be the person you want to attract.

I don’t think she means literally….I think she’s saying that if you have low self-worth then you will probably attract someone who doesn’t value you……so more or less how you feel inside is what you attract. All women that attract cheaters are not cheaters…..

No but if every guy you date cheats on you you’re doing something either to get them to cheat, to attract cheaters, or just letting them get away with it constantly. You can’t ALWAYS blame someone else. You can’t say “all men are no good” because it’s just the ones you date that are. I can’t stand people that talk that way but make no effort to change the type of man they date or attract. You can’t get a millionaire if you act like a hood rat. You can’t be with a godly man if you’re in the clubs 5-7 nights a week. You have to bring it too.
