“Mr Marcus” Sentenced To 30 Days In Jail For Spreading Syphilis

Back in 2012, during a routine screening, the adult film industry discovered that veteran actor Mr. Marcus, real name Jesse Spencer, had syphilis. He received a penicillin shot immediately. But when he was screened 11 days later he still showed signs of the disease. But instead of sitting out of the next shoot, Mr. Marcus altered the results of the second test and returned to work.

Well, earlier today Spencer, who plead no contest to the charges, was sentenced to 30 days in jail. He was also ordered to perform 15 days of community service and serve three years probation.

Spencer is also jailed with a $200,000 bail for an unrelated drunk driving case.

Mr. Marcus, 42, claimed that when he went back to work and took part in two shoots, he thought he was no longer infectious. A producer found the altered test results and told the two actresses he worked with and they called the police.

Spencer wasn’t the only actor who tested positive for syphilis last summer. In fact he was one of nearly a dozen. The outbreak lead the adult film industry to implement a filming hiatus and established a new condom law.

30 days, community service and probation seems like a light sentence for knowingly endangering people’s lives but who are we to judge.

What do you think of this story and the ruling?

I think 30 days is fine. It’s not AIDS. If you run around having unprotected sex with multiple people, you should get checked biweekly anyway. So, they would have found out relatively quickly and gotten it taken care of.

Its unfortunate that we have men & women sleeping around knowing they have an STD. 30 days should’ve been 6 months to 1 year in jail or prison. Makes you think how many women did he give syphilis or aids too.

    That’s sad…..ewww

  • Citizen_007

i guess i am wondering why is the issue focused on mr. marcus when it says that there were several others who also had the disease besides him. was he the originator of the disease or did he contract it from some other person and that was why he went to get checked.

undoubtedly, he should have refrained from interaction knowing that he had still had a positive result – isn’t this the same thing that al capone died of? just a thought

    • kierah

I guess they are focused on Mr. Marcus because he is the only one found to tamper with his results. He knew a positive result would mean a time-out for him. Having the disease isn’t the issue. Knowingly deceiving folks with a disease is very much a crime.

  • Realityh03$Anonymous….ohwait

He was spreading Syphilis and ONLY got 30 days!?! That mongrel needs like 3-5 for that messiness…

  • J. Law

No, It should have been harsher. He should have to pay monetary damages also. It should seriously affect him. So hit him in his wallet severely also.

  • IllyPhilly

First, yes he was dirty for that and deserves more time because syphilis can be fatal and some symptoms could take years to show up. Secondly Mr. Marcus is like 85 and still making p0rn?

    • Realityh03$Anonymous….ohwait

*DEAD* Maybe his retirement aint making ends meet…

30 days in prison, a punishment perhaps for the first time I heard with this crime.

  • Gifted51

I have a question… where is all this info coming from?

    • Yeppers

Ahhh how bout police reports… This was news in LA where and when it happened long before Madame noire picked up this sentencing story. So what are you callin a lie sweetheart?? It was reported on the local news when he did it.

      • Gifted51

Interesting, I know I replied to yeppers here about that comment and now I see its been removed or not allowed to be posted at all. I wonder as because I questioned the article?

      • Gifted51

Hmmm looks like I can comment again, well like I said before or tried to say.

1: I don’t live in L.A so no I wouldn’t know that nor did I follow this story because I thought it was just a rumor.

2: If anyone is writing for a publication about anyone or anything, they should site their sources and link to them as well so your readers can read that for themselves as well. Taking someone word for it isn’t enough.

3: I never said anything about lying that’s all your assumption @a1f78a89665396e9da40e9c9e5215364:disqus

Writer said “seems like a light sentence for endangering people’s lives” meaning the writer thought maybe he should’ve received a harsher/ longer sentence

  • keekee

I think he should get the same years as someone who knowingly spreads HIV this is bs

    • IllyPhilly

Agreed whoever gave you thumbs down don’t know ALL the side effects of the disease.

  • Brownsuga

I think his sentence was fair, they have people who spread HIV and receive a slap on the wrist!

30 Days….. what if those women & men who became infected didn’t take care of their disease & went Mad or DIED?!?! He’s real Lucky. I’m not going to lie I used to LOVE to watch Mr. Marcus but this really messed up the fantasy for me. Irresponsible behavior f’s over a lot of things, including your Life. HE knew better yet he didn’t do better.

    • IllyPhilly

Ew, Wesley Pipes was the “hit” it guy. LOL We’re going to h3ll

      • EbonyLolita

I HATE all the talking Wesley Pipes does. Like I’d always have to watch him on MUTE! Geeeesh that MoFo can dry a wet pu$$i up w/all that damn talking he does!

        • IllyPhilly

          Bwhahahaha!!

      • Candacey Doris

Am i the only one who never watched this man?

        • IllyPhilly

You might be, you never took a sneak in moms and/or dads p0rn and saw that damn snapback or fitted hat on? was twelve…er…fifteen I mean and was like “who fuckz with a hat on?”

    • Fladabosco

In my opinion this is assault and should be a felony. He knew he was going to injure women and went out of his way to make it happen.

    • Superfox Mackin

I used to like watching him too lol

      • EbonyLolita

        Aowwwwwwww

  • Candacey Doris

Yes it’s fair! He was telling people he was clean and someone may have gotten infected. Do you know what untreated syphilis can do to people? Final stages bring madness and death.

    • Vanessa Henry

i think the way the writer meant that was “should the sentencing be more strict?”…not in the way you’re responding,

      • Candacey Doris

I think it’s fair that he is being put in jail. Can it be more strict? Probably but it’s up to the judge’s discretion. I was just really glad he didn’t get off (no pun intended) with a slap on the wrist because it seemed like he would.

        • Vanessa Henry

definitely…but like you said he’s putting peoples health as risk…death is possible, death! i think it should have been more severe. a 30 day sentencing is comparable to a misdeameanor, an inconvenience to society…but this, this goes wayy beyond that.

    • YeahISaidItSoWhatHuh

Yeah…All Capone thought he was “Untouchable” (pun intended), but he went bat-s#it crazy from syphilis in jail.
