A 24-year-old Beijing based advertising employee Li Yuan collapsed and died of a massive heart attack on Tuesday after spending the last month working long hours, often showing up for work early and leaving as late as 11 p.m. According to the Daily Mail, Li rose from his chair at about 5 p.m. that day, yelled in pain, and fell to the floor. He was confirmed dead at the hospital. That’s horrific.

After word surfaced on Weibo, the Chinese version of Facebook, the ad agency confirmed the news in a tweet.

According to Gawker, (h/t China Youth Daily), 600,000 people per year are dying in China due to “work exhaustion.”
