I’ve Been Kicked Out Of Better Places: Reports Of Nicki Minaj Quitting ‘American Idol’ Surface Amid Firing Rumors

Last week we told you that after 12 seasons, Randy Jackson announced that he would not be returning to American Idol. Although Randy’s news came as a bit of a surprise, almost everyone knew that major changes would be made to the reality-singing competition. Fox insiders later rang the alarm, claiming that Randy wouldn’t be the only judge bidding Idol adieu because the network’s executives have plans to fire the entire panel of judges.

Now of course Idol fans value Keith Urban and Randy Jackson’s presence on the show, but what people really want to know is whether or not they can look forward to another season of bickering between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. When asked if she’d be returning for another season earlier this month, Nicki sort of danced around the question.

“That’s a million-dollar question… I have to say this all the time, but I want people to know it’s genuinely from my heart. I love the people on Idol. I genuinely do. If I had to do this all over again, I would have done Idol. Because it’s fun, it’s laughs. It’s kind of sad that what people read all the time is only when something is negative. But they don’t realize that we built a family. I feel happy here and I have to thank them for giving me this chance. They could have picked anyone in the world. And they picked me. So that’s all I’ll say about that.”

Nicki can do all of the dancing she wants, but it appears that talk of being fired may be prompting her to sing a different tune. An insider speaking on behalf of the “High School” rapper  recently told Us Weekly that she won’t be returning to Idol and that she only had plans to do one season anyway.

“It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to Idol. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway,” said the leak.
