I’ll Always Love My Mama: Celebs Shout Out Their Favorite Gal’s On Mother’s Day With Some Awesome Throwback Pics
We hope your Mother’s Day with your mom and all the women in your life who have brought a child into the world was a beautiful one. And we know that celebrities had a ball too, because many of them posted pictures of their mothers over the years all over social media, and in the process, gave us a glimpse at them as children, and just some really cool throwback pictures. We collected some of our favorites and thought we’d share all the love they had to give to their mothers yesterday, and the cute photos that came with that. Enjoy!
On his Instagram page yesterday, the R&B crooner posted a picture of his mother and himself as an infant in the early ’80s. He captioned the pic in a touching way, by calling his mother his “Favorite Lady.”
“My favorite lady. I’d be nothing without you and the sacrifices u made for me. Happy Mothers Day to you all.”
At first glance, you probably would never guess who this is, but it’s English singer Estelle’s “mum,” who is Senegalese. We can see the resemblance though. Though Estelle is from London, now that she resides in the States, she had no qualms about participating in all the Mother’s Day love and shout outs:
“Welp Because I now reside here guess I gotta join in w the holidays here too – my Rock, reset button, and example of “how to have a HUGE heart” (this is her the year she had me) #dontcrack #myfuturelooksamazing #africangenes #sheabutter #heckyes! #jesusbeknowin #mummy”
“The one day I year I forgive her for this. Happy Mothers Day!”
That’s how Richie captioned the above photo of her mom, Brenda Richie, and the future reality star and designer dressed like twins at an event. Before Richie was a fashion maven, her mom, like everybody’s mom did back in the day, dressed her in some pretty luxe yet tackalicious ensembles. But despite all that, the two were and have remained very close as Richie has become a mother of two, and I’m sure her mother’s lavish style back in the day has played a part in Richie’s own fashionable moves.
“Mom, thank u for being the greatest example of a true woman. U are my best friend, my heartbeat , my teacher & my rock. U raised two kids as a single parent & the older I get, the more I appreciate you. Thank U for for helping to make my brother @g_luck the man that he is & ME the woman that I am. I LVE U beyond words. God bless u!”
“To the best mom & grandma MJ!!! I love you so much!!!”
“Happy Mother’s Day to my mom. Beverly. Thanks for having me n dealing wit the mess I put u through thanks for being my everything !!”
The…well, let’s just be real and call her Chris Brown’s ex, took to her Instagram to show love to her mom, who we can see she grew up to look a lot like. Her mom is Vietnamese and her dad is black. Like Beyoncé, Tran kept it short and just said Happy Mother’s Day to her and all the moms and captioned this picture with a smiley face and a heart. She was so cute!
Before he was Swizz Beatz, Swizzy was just Kasseem Dean, the son of a Puerto Rican mom (Kim), and an Eritrean father, who wasn’t that present in his life. But Kim held things down, and as her son reaches major heights as a producer, and even as a spokesperson for Reebok, she’s right by his side still (reaping those benefits, including free shoes!!!). And we can clearly see that he looks JUST like her!
“HMD to my Super Queen AKA my twin MRS KIM LOVE U MOM”
And of course, nobody does Mother’s Day shout outs like Diddy. He has so many to show love to. First, he gave love to his mom Janice with the photo above saying, “Ain’t no body like mama!”
And then he also took the time on his Instagram account to shout out each and every one of the women in his life who brought a child of his into the world, including Misa Hylton, Kim Porter, and Sarah Chapman, posting the images below (separately though). I’m sure they all appreciated the love…
