We hope your Mother’s Day with your mom and all the women in your life who have brought a child into the world was a beautiful one. And we know that celebrities had a ball too, because many of them posted pictures of their mothers over the years all over social media, and in the process, gave us a glimpse at them as children, and just some really cool throwback pictures. We collected some of our favorites and thought we’d share all the love they had to give to their mothers yesterday, and the cute photos that came with that. Enjoy!

Trey Songz

On his Instagram page yesterday, the R&B crooner posted a picture of his mother and himself as an infant in the early ’80s. He captioned the pic in a touching way, by calling his mother his “Favorite Lady.”

“My favorite lady. I’d be nothing without you and the sacrifices u made for me. Happy Mothers Day to you all.”

And he’s not lying! Trigga Trey’s mom has been a red carpet staple with him since he made it big, and they’ve been very open about their strong bond over the years.

At first glance, you probably would never guess who this is, but it’s English singer Estelle’s “mum,” who is Senegalese. We can see the resemblance though. Though Estelle is from London, now that she resides in the States, she had no qualms about participating in all the Mother’s Day love and shout outs:

“Welp Because I now reside here guess I gotta join in w the holidays here too – my Rock, reset button, and example of “how to have a HUGE heart” (this is her the year she had me) #dontcrack #myfuturelooksamazing #africangenes #sheabutter #heckyes! #jesusbeknowin #mummy”

Born to a Filipino dad and a black and Hispanic mother, Cassie showed love to her mom, Stacey Hobson, through her Instagram page. The singer and her mother are pretty close, and when Cassie decided to do that half-shaven haircut we can’t stand (she’s still cute though), her mom supported her, and took her daughter’s hair to donate it to the charity, “Locks of Love.” And can we just say that Cassie’s bangs were perfect back in the day?? Cute picture all around.
“Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! I love you!

Nicole Richie

The one day I year I forgive her for this. Happy Mothers Day!”

That’s how Richie captioned the above photo of her mom, Brenda Richie, and the future reality star and designer dressed like twins at an event. Before Richie was a fashion maven, her mom, like everybody’s mom did back in the day, dressed her in some pretty luxe yet tackalicious ensembles. But despite all that, the two were and have remained very close as Richie has become a mother of two, and I’m sure her mother’s lavish style back in the day has played a part in Richie’s own fashionable moves.

The Rock

While my husband, The Rock, aka, Dwayne Johnson, has been extremely busy shooting like 30 movies this year, wrestling, recovering from surgery and preparing to do promo for another Fast and The Furious movie, he took some time out to highlight his own mother, who is absolutely gorgeous!
“She’d always tell me ‘You can do anything.. just do it from the heart’. I believed. #PowerOfAMama #MothersDay”

2Chainz was a little early with his Mother’s Day love, posting throwback pictures of himself and his mom earlier this month that gave us a glimpse of the rapper, aka “hairweavekiller” before the dreadlocks and those chains of his (and before he made the decision to call himself Tity Boi early on…). Tauheed Epps was handsome, wasn’t he?
We’ve seen Ri Ri with her mother on many an occasion, but she didn’t hold back in sharing her thoughts on why she thinks her mom is the number one stunner:
“Her attitude Rihanna, she got it from her mama!!!…. Happy Mother’s Day beautiful!! What a lucky little b***h I am to have come from you! You showed me real strength, how to be independent, how to love and be loved, not to judge people or their situations, how to forgive, how to learn from every mistake I make, how to be hospitable, how to do my makeup, cook, clean, not to lower my standards for anything or anyone! DOLLY taught you so well, I can only imagine how incredibly proud of you she is !!! I am who I am because that’s all I’ve known!! Thank you for all that you’ve endured to make sure I got here, with a smile!! I could never repay you, you’re PRICELESS!!! My gem!!! #mommy #happymothersday #mamasgal #mynumber1”

Bey has never been one for many words (aside from, “I love me some Jay-Z!” and what we were able to learn about her from her HBO documentary) , so when she posted this picture of her mother and her sister (a mom also) for Mother’s Day looking colorful and cute in H-Town (an old picture), she just captioned it with a heart. She’s got nothin’ but love for Mama Tina (who has been looking hot, hot, hot these days!) and her baby sis.

Letoya Luckett

Speaking of H-Town folks, LeToya Luckett posted a picture of herself as a baby with her very beautiful mother, who raised Luckett and her brother on her own. She had some very sweet words to share about her mother’s major contributions in her life:

“Mom, thank u for being the greatest example of a true woman. U are my best friend, my heartbeat , my teacher & my rock. U raised two kids as a single parent & the older I get, the more I appreciate you. Thank U for for helping to make my brother @g_luck the man that he is & ME the woman that I am. I LVE U beyond words. God bless u!”

Kim Kardashian

Even before the reality show, the Kardashian family has made every opportunity to take a picture a photoshoot fresh one since childhood. Kim, who will be a mother in a few months, posted this picture of her mother and grandmother, as well as her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. Big laugh at Khloe totally not feeling being in the picture:

“To the best mom & grandma MJ!!! I love you so much!!!”

Snoop Dogg

Who made the D-O-G-G who is he today? Why, it’s Snoop’s mother, Beverly. The legendary rapper and actor posted a picture of his dear mother, who is too cute and fresh, and thanked her for making him the man he is, and of course, for putting up with everything he put her through as a young man:

“Happy Mother’s Day to my mom. Beverly. Thanks for having me n dealing wit the mess I put u through thanks for being my everything !!”

Karreuche Tran

The…well, let’s just be real and call her Chris Brown’s ex, took to her Instagram to show love to her mom, who we can see she grew up to look a lot like. Her mom is Vietnamese and her dad is black. Like Beyoncé, Tran kept it short and just said Happy Mother’s Day to her and all the moms and captioned this picture with a smiley face and a heart. She was so cute!

June Ambrose

One of the most successful black stylists out there, June Ambrose is known for being a double-duty businesswoman and mom, taking her kids with her for fittings and more. And she even calls herself a #rockmom. But who helped make Ambrose into the #rockmom she is today? Her own mum, who she says she’s loved since the day she opened her eyes and met her:
“#sacredsunday I believe in love at first site, Because I loved my MOM since I opened my Eyes! Every day is your Day in my Book!”

Swizz Beatz

Before he was Swizz Beatz, Swizzy was just Kasseem Dean, the son of a Puerto Rican mom (Kim), and an Eritrean father, who wasn’t that present in his life. But Kim held things down, and as her son reaches major heights as a producer, and even as a spokesperson for Reebok, she’s right by his side still (reaping those benefits, including free shoes!!!).  And we can clearly see that he looks JUST like her!

“HMD to my Super Queen AKA my twin MRS KIM LOVE U MOM”

And of course, nobody does Mother’s Day shout outs like Diddy. He has so many to show love to. First, he gave love to his mom Janice with the photo above saying, “Ain’t no body like mama!”

And then he also took the time on his Instagram account to shout out each and every one of the women in his life who brought a child of his into the world, including Misa Hylton, Kim Porter, and Sarah Chapman, posting the images below (separately though). I’m sure they all appreciated the love…
