Did You Need A Tat For That? Ciara Says Her And Future’s Matching Tats Are Their Way Of Putting Positive Things In The Universe

We know we’re not the only ones who were wondering why Ciara and Future upped and got matching tattoos on their fingers after only having been dating for a short while. Unfortunately, we haven’t had an opportunity to ask such a pertinent question, but thankfully Wendy Williams did and, as usual, she did not mince words.

Today, Ciara appeared on her talk show discussing everything from body parties to her Rihanna feud, but the most interesting moment of their chat was Ciara’s explanation for her and her boo, Future’s, matching tats. Here’s how the discussion went when Wendy drew attention to the body art.

Wendy: Are you pregnant?

Ciara: No (laughs)

Wendy: Clearly you’re in love?

Ciara: I’m very happy

Wendy: So you guys eventually are going to getting married?

Ciara: I don’t know.

Wendy: What happens if you don’t get married to this guy? How are you going to explain that to the next man?

This is the place I’m in. I’ve always been so reserved and to myself or more private and kind of half way about something when I speak about a relationship. In this day in my life I’m so comfortable in my skin. And I feel so good about where I am. I’m very confident and comfortable with the way he loves me. I say that to say I’m only going to put in the universe positive things. I’m going to put in the universe that it’s only going to get better and better and better.

And again I ask: you needed a tattoo to do that?

I get putting positive things out in the universe, I just prefer they come into fruition before I permanently place those ideas on my body. But hey, get it how you live. Here’s to Ci Ci never having to explain these tats to anyone else!

What do you think about the reason behind their tattoos?

If she married that dam man that JUST GOT THRU FIGHTING WITH BABY MAMAS ON TWITTER TALKIN BOUT HE WAS STILL SMASHIN SHE A DAM FOOL. You betta hope she wasnt that stupid. He would have had to put in some time and clean up all them “situations” fore he walked me down anyones isle.

“And again I ask: you needed a tattoo to do that?”

And I tell you, it’s HER body.

Seriously people it’s just a tattoo of an f. That can easily be covered up better yet removed or even unacknowledged. Many people have their man’s name Spelled out and they have no problem getting a man when it’s over. Me and my finance have each others name tatted on us. Then again we’ve been together 12 years and I have a sweet cover up in case it don’t work. But i just don’t think its that serious.

  • FromUR2UB

This is so stupid. People who don’t believe in marriage, seem to think tattoos can bind them.
It has to work…we got tattoos!

    • Live_in_LDN

Not anymore. Laser removal procedures are getting more and more sophisticated. It’s a small tattoo so it won’t be a problem to remove or cover up with another tattoo.

      • FromUR2UB

Then, what’s the point? Why ink someone’s name or initial on your skin, then replace it with a scar or new tattoo if things change? Rings are a lot easier to take off. That part about putting something out into the Universe made her sound like she thinks the tat has the power to cast a magical spell…which can only be broken by laser removal, I suppose.

        • Live_in_LDN

What’s the point in wearing lipstick if it’s just gonig to wash off or piercing your lobes only for it to heal? I don’t know. Let people do what they want with their bodies. At the moment, Ciara has no intention to remove the tattoo so it symbolises commitment. I do agree with you however that her reasoning for getting tattooed makes her sound stupid, talking about projecting into the universe or whatever she said. I hate when people try and get all deep and spiritual about something that isn’t deep nor spiritual.

I think tats are great and often represent a certain time in someone’s life, good or bad. Their matching ink seems to represent a time in her life where’s she’s deeply in love & hopefully she’ll always have that to look back on, even if it doesn’t work out. And she’s got the funds, she can always get it removed.

  • Pivyque

Was I the only one that caught the shade she threw when asked about Rihanna? Lol

  • Nia

    That’s their business. Period.

    • yeppers

Its HER BUSINESS but she is doing a Book tour and press releases about her relationship… My business stay in the confines of my house, how bout yours.

  • COCOABABE

YOU KNOW…THAT INTERVIEW WAS GREAT. SHE WAS POISED AND NICE. EVERYTHING IS ON POINT (HAIR, MAKEUP, OUTFIT, SHOES). I LIKED IT. THE SONG IS THE BOMB! THE VIDEO IS HOT! EVERYTHING IS FALLING INTO PLACE.

AS FAR AS THE MATCHING TATTOOS…GET IT GIRL! SHE FEELS THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS GOING TO LAST AND DID A CUTE THING FOR THEMSELVES. SHE IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT HER FUTURE (LITERALLY AND FIGURATIVELY)… EVERYONE WANTS TO ASK HER WHAT IF IT DOESN’T WORK OUT AND SHE IS SAYING SHE SEES IT POSITIVELY NOT NEGATIVELY.

WHY SHOULD SHE WALK AROUND FEARFUL OF IT ENDING? SHE LIVES LIKE IT WON’T. DO YOUR VERSION OF HAPPY. THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN IS LASER REMOVAL. OTHERWISE, THEY KNEW IT WOULD LAST AND THAT’S ALL THAT MATTERS. I SAY…AS LONG AS ME, MY MAN & MY MAMA ARE COOL – ITS ALL GOOD. SO THE ANSWER TO THAT IS “YEP, SHE NEEDED A TATTOO TO DO THAT” CUZ SHE IS HAPPY.

    • Hey

Why are you shouting? No need for caps!

  • kickash

Ciara, you are a beautiful girl, i like you and I’m glad you’re happy with Future Vandross. But nobody knows WTF you are talking about. Stop trying to sound super intelligent you are confusing everyone and you don’t even use words or phrases in the proper context. Either just be straight forward about it or say no comment, sweetie.

    • Kenedy

Why am I so dead @ “Future Vandross”? haah!

    • Jay’Love

LOOOOLLL!! took the EXACT words right outta my mouth

    • I_am_a_Gladiator/Scandalista

Oh my gosh, #youtriedit! Lmao@future vandross!

  • MLS2698

I get real confused when people say they are ” reserved ” but can make a video with a coochie cameo ( BET won’t even play it). And I thought things are to be ” spoken ” into the universe, not tatted. 0-o

    • Suchalady

Yeah, her private/reserved act is annoying because it’s so forced. Good luck to them though, even though it’s clear that there’s always more interest in her relationships/beefs than her music.

      • yeppers

You betta preach in here today….so unreserved means you have to shout it from the rooftops??? I would rather be private/reserved about my PRIVATE life thank you very much CIARA. Being that you are a public figure you would think you would want to keep some things to yourself and not be plastered allover blogs every other day about your BF….and thats Ok with you and its something wrong if you dont want that?? Chile Ciara bye girl. Trying to be “different” to stand out, but you sound crazy hunny.

  • Alecia Murphy

That answer makes no sense just like the he reads thing a few days ago. I think Future’s slipping Ciara some cuckoo juice.
