Last week we told you about Nicki Minaj’s venomous Twitter rant aimed at her American Idol co-host Mariah Carey. When questioned about the feud and the comments she made about Mariah by Access Hollywood correspondent Laura Saltman, Nicki, who was visibly irritated began to insult Laura, telling her that the question she was asking didn’t make sense.

“Are you looking forward to the end [of American Idol]? Because I know there were some Twitter comments you made today that caused quite a stir,” Laura asked.

“That question didn’t even make sense. So if you want me to insinuate what you’re talking about I’m not going to,” Nicki spat.

Before even giving Saltman a chance to respond, Nicki said, “Okay, goodnight” and walked away. An aggravated Laura composed a rather lengthy blog post about the experience, calling Nicki “ungracious” and a “cyber-bully.” Laura’s post reads:

“In my 20 years in entertainment news, I have interviewed close to 5,000 celebrities — people who have bigger bragging rights than Nicki. Men and women who have Oscars, Grammys and Emmys. Yet, by far, she is the most ungracious of anyone I have met.

Each week, she comes backstage for interviews and we are told “two questions only” while her people hover over you and even, at times, have their hand on your arm as you end your interview to make you stop. Waiver from the two-question rule and Nicki herself will walk away. She makes zero eye contact and has no connection to whomever is interviewing her. If she likes your question, she may give you a proper answer. If she doesn’t, she may give you a dirty look and walk off. After she posted mean comments about Mariah on Twitter yesterday calling her “bitter” and “insecure,” I wanted to give her the opportunity to redeem herself or perhaps apologize. I phrased my question that her comments had caused quite a stir online and asked if she had anything to say about it. She looked at me and told me my question made no sense and when I tried to explain it further she just said “goodnight” and walked off in a huff.

Nicki’s comments yesterday on Twitter show who she really is – a mean girl, a cyber-bully who is just perpetuating the problems of social media. When will society finally take a stand and say ‘Enough!’ with all of the hateful, spiteful things people say about each other? We are more connected than ever online but more willing to hide behind our anonymous avatars and be nasty to people we barely know. As a celebrity, I would hope that Nicki would understand her fans look to her as a role model and she should choose her words more wisely. From what I have seen of her behavior since “Idol” began, I’m not sure she is capable of this. She’s a female rapper who should be proud of her accomplishments as a woman not cutting other women down.

The truth is that 20 years from now, Mariah Carey will still be known as one of the best female vocalists of all time. Nicki Minaj – well, I will let you decide that.”

You can probably guess that this didn’t sit too well with Nicki. The “High School rapper took to her Twitter page to blast Laura and the Access Hollywood team, especially Billy Bush who called her “a female Kanye West.”

Turn the page to see footage of the interview that started it all. Nicki’s segment begins at the 2:51 mark. Do you think Nicki was justified in walking away during an interview? Was it unprofessional of Laura to write a blog post coming for Nicki?

I think people are starting to get what Lil Kim has been saying about her for along time; that she is not a nice person.

i swear she was put on this earth to initiate “operation perpetuate the stereotype”

Not on earth. God had nothing to do with it, but I’m sure the CEOs of media companies think she’s a cute pet.

“That question didn’t even make sense. So if you want me to insinuate what you’re talking about I’m not going to,”
This sentence doesn’t even make sense, It sounds like she opened the oxford dictionary & the just threw the word in there

In my opinion, MC has ALWAYS come off as a b*tch. Never have like her, never will… The one part I don’t blame Nicki for is when MC said that she didn’t want another female on the show. Why not?

Haha! Nicki calls herself the female Kanye… Now, that’s funny!

    • anonymouse

the same reason that paula abdul was upset when they brought in another female judge. the fact is that the 4 judge format messes with the flow of things and since they reverted back to 3 when J.LO was judging……………..i guess that’s the format mariah wanted as well.

I honestly wish someone would come in the game and ether her whole career like 50 did to Ja Rule.

This hoodrat is nothing but a gimmick with a great promo team behind her. Please humble yourself.

  • ChiTown Princess

Nicki can’t get along with anyone, not even with her wigs and her clothes.

How to do you mention God’s name in the same (computer) breath you use cussing up a blue streak? #STOP

Unfortunately, the entertainment industry coddles behavior like hers as long as the hits keep coming, so we’re probably in for it until she falls off.

  • Ooh La La

I’m sure the God that has highly blessed you and has you in His favor doesn’t approve of you calling people hoes. How do you mention God’s name and spew profanity in the same breath? I have no respect for this woman. This is what entitlement looks like. How do you have a diva attitude without the talent to back it up? Nicki, just go away. Most of the sane world is through with your shenanigans already.

Nicki, I don’t get it… YOU were the one being negative towards Mariah (who is a DIVA and earned her title, so does it really surprise anyone now when she acts like one?!) You dedicated a whole Twitter rant to her the night before! Sure, AI is supposed to be about the contestants, but clearly Idol has been playing off of this “beef” since before the season even started, so why are you acting surprised when a reporter brings up the negativity that YOU put out there for the WORLD to see? And then turn around and dedicate a whole Twitter rant to the reporter when in all honesty, she was just telling the truth about YOU! That’s why you mad! Smh… Nicki is about to fall off the map because she truly IS UNGRATEFUL, and the disrespect is so real, like who would seriously want to work with her after this? She needs to be grateful to Fox and AI because her last album didn’t do the numbers that she was expecting (first week sales and re-release), especially since neither she nor Wayne have an endorsement from Pepsi anymore! And I’ve seen plenty of her “Barbz” jumping ship because they’re tired of her too!

If I only got 2 questions, I would ask the juiciest questions I could rather than the same boring questions everyone else asked.
Stand behind the stuff you say behind the keyboard! She’s bold enough to Tweet it, but not bold enough to speak it.

  • olivia

Nicki acted like an a55. If she is gonna make inflammatory posts, then she should not be surprised when people wanna talk to her about it.

Isn’t that why she did it? Doesn’t she want that kind of attention? And yes, she is a “cyber-bully” and an immature c#nt.
