Sometimes the drama going on behind the scenes of your favorite movies is more compelling than what’s in front of the camera. Some celebrities have managed to keep their public personas squeaky clean. But reports from the set say that they’re a nightmare to work with.
Stacey has been in tabloids recently for sticking her nose into Jay-Z and Bey’s business. But her attitude has been ruffling feathers for a while. She was fired from her lead role on the VH1 show “Single Ladies” because she picked fights with cast members and refused to say her lines when she thought she had better ones. Her co-star Lisa Raye told JET Magazine, “She had some issues. I’m not sure exactly what those issues were.” And those issues got her fired right after they wrapped filming for the season.
The gossip from the set of “The Voice” is that Usher is a diva and a half. Folks on set are calling him self-absorbed, arrogant and hard to work with. A stagehand from the show said:
“Usher came onto the show with a massive attitude. He acts like he is the top dog and deserves to be catered to from the minute he arrives — which is usually hours late.”
Kevin Bacon is getting in trouble on “The Following” for making waves about what he says is a misogynistic story line. An unnamed source from the set said “Kevin is furious that he doesn’t get much say in the plot. He hates the way the writers treat the female characters.” He’s been butting heads with the producer and trying to change the script. But apparently he was recently told to get with the program or get out.
Christopher Abbott went from relative obscurity to star status when Lena Dunham cast him as a major character on her show Girls. But apparently Christopher has been getting a little big for his britches and demanding some say in the plot line. In a screaming match between Dunham and Abbott that made tabloid headlines, Chris said he was too serious an actor to play the character Dunham wrote. Lena told him to say the lines or get out and he left.
Matt’s attitude is in the process of getting him blacklisted from TV altogether. He got his co-anchor Ann Curry fired then lied about his role in getting her kicked off of the show. Now the word from the Today Show is that his nasty attitude is bringing the show’s ratings down. Since the public found out about his antics, Matt’s been trying to do damage control by buying breakfast for the cast and crew. But rumor has it that it’s just a matter of time before he gets fired.
Shia LaBeouf has a habit of accepting a role, cashing his paycheck and then bashing the movie. After he starred in “Transformers,” he compared director Michael Bay to Hitler. After he starred in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull he bashed it on his media tour.
But now directors have had just about enough of his mes. He was recently fired from the Broadway play “Orphans” after he couldn’t get along with his costar Alec Baldwin. I guess that mess doesn’t fly on Broadway.
As bad as her off-camera antics are, her on-set behavior is worse. Her behavior on set for “The Cayons” had her co-workers worried that there might be something seriously wrong with Lindsay. Her co-star James Deen said that “There were days when she would scream and yell and cry and refuse to come out.” The New York Times
even wrote an article about the dozens of crazy things that Lindsay did while on set.
How do you compensate for dwindling record sales? If you’re Justin Bieber you throw temper tantrums after the show. We can’t tell if it’s the pint-sized Canadian’s PR team’s work or part of his quarter-life crisis. But now the stories of Justin cussing out his fans and fighting the paparazzi are more popular than his albums. Maybe he’s gearing up for a second career as a reality show star.
When Madonna was a superstar, the world was more than happy to put up with her diva demands and short temper. But now that her record sales aren’t what they used to be, Madonna is catching shade for her nasty attitude on tour. Even other celebrities are getting on her case. Elton John famously quipped, “Why is she such a nightmare? Her tour has been a nightmare? Her tour has been a disaster, and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c–t…She looks like a fairground stripper.” Ouch.
Katherine Heigl may play the good girl in her movies, but she’s pretty nasty behind the scenes. She has publicly slammed the movies like “Knocked Up” that made her a star. Then she demanded to be let out of her role in Grey’s Anatomy. Her attitude has made it hard for her to get a good role since. She’s been in a string of box office bombs because there aren’t many Hollywood directors who are willing to put up with her nastiness on set.
Jenny from the Block is such a nightmare to work with that she has trouble finding other singers to appear on her albums. Word on the street is that she’s demanding, rude and sometimes delusional. Even Mariah Carey says that she is too through: “I’d rather be on stage with a pig. A duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain’t going to happen.”
Remember when everyone talked about Lil’ Wayne because his lyrics were so cold? Now fans can’t catch a Lil’ Wayne show without having to hear about his drama. During the All-Star Weekend fans wanted to hear Lil’ Wayne rhyme. But first, he wanted to get something off of his chest:
“When I say f**k, you say NBA! When I say f**k, you say Miami Heat! F**k LeBron. F**k She Wade. F**k Chris Bosh. F**k all y’all. “I f**ked Chris Bosh wife.”
Maybe Lil’ Wayne should leave his personal drama for Twitter and just get to work.
We all know that a little bit of drama increases a show’s ratings. But Nicki Minaj is going to mess around and put American Idol off the air. And Nicki’s not satisfied with throwing shade on camera. After their most recent on-screen fued, Nicki took to Twitter to keep the mess going:
“Why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter.””All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that.”
Apparently American Idol is thinking of replacing Mariah with JLo. But maybe they need fewer divas on the show so we can all focus on the music.
Sometimes celebrities just need to shut up and dance. Apparently dancing brought out the diva in former Bachelor Sean Lowe. Reports from inside Dancing with the Stars say that Sean has been annoying the crew with demands to only be shot from certain angles. Fellow contestants have also complained about how Sean brags to other cast member saying “This show needs me.” We bet they’ll all be glad when his 15 minutes are up.
Heidi can’t stick to her lines on set because no one can understand her. Apparently producers have to stop filming America’s Got Talent over and over to ask Heidi to enunciate her words. Sources from the show say that Heidi might as well be speaking German because no one has any idea what she’s saying. Her accent is so bad that she might be getting canned from the show.
