Offensive posts and comments are rampant on the internet, but they don’t make for particularly good business when associated with a restaurant. A Delaware eatery is learning this after derogatory comments and inappropriate photos popped up on its social media accounts earlier this month.

The News Journal reports that someone recently posted racial slurs and photos of receipts with low tips on Facebook and Instagram accounts associated with Padi Restaurant in Hockessin. The accounts have since been removed, but Daily Mail posted screen captures of the offensive posts.

Among the photos in question is an image of a paid bill of $53.80 with a tip of $5.20, which is less than 10 percent, from a customer with an Indian surname. It was accompanied by the caption, “What do you expect from a last name like that? Sand ni****s will never change #cheap #jew.” Another reads, “Cheap a**, order takeout and eat it at the bar. #notip #monday #cheap #trash.”

I believe in tipping nicely for good service, however wait staff should adjust their attitudes and understand once and for all, tipping is optional, NOT MANDATORY!!! If you want a good tip, give good service. I know sometimes no matter how good you are, a cheapskate will not tip well, but usually if people are satisfied with the service they will tip well and if they don’t, you don’t have a right to chase after them, out them on social media, make racist comments or belittle them in any way. It is not a right to get a tip!!! Last I checked it was not in the constitution. The energy would be better spent focusing on skills and education that will get you a better paying job so you do need to rely on someone else’s tips!!!! Government should also do a better job of making sure wait staff makes at least minimum wage!!! No other industry makes people stand on their feet and work all day and then forces them to rely on tips to survive!!!!

Thank you!! Ugh, $5.20 is a good amount of money to throw-away for no reason, he didn’t want to waste anymore…get over it! I HATE tipping too.
