Linda Fondren, a Vicksburg, Mississippi mayoral candidate recently opened up about her past as a “working girl.” In the past Fondren had been accused of being part owner of Nevada brothel Sagebrush Ranch, but in a recent interview with WLBT, she came clean about her past and set the record straight.

“I was a working girl in a legal brothel over thirty years ago. It’s true, my husband was my client. My husband and I have been married for twenty-eight years,” Fondren explained.

She also admits that she and her husband did own the ranch, but they sold it back in the early 90′s. Fondren went on to say that she knew her past as a “working girl” would eventually be exposed, she just didn’t think it would receive as much attention as it has and that she’d avoided conversations about it in the past because she didn’t want to embarrass her family.

” I knew that it would surface because it was around, I just didn’t think it would be me sitting here having an interview with you today.”

“Am I proud of what I did? No. Do I have regrets? No. I am who I am. This is my story. It is what makes me who I am.”

“My story is exactly why I’m running for mayor because I want to give people better choices than what I had. I want people to understand you can turn your life around. I turned my life around and so it definitely can happen for others as well.”

News of Fondren’s past first leaked when popular brothel owner, Dennis Hot came forward saying that he knew Linda from the brothel business.

“I’m just proud that a former Nevada prostitute has gone on to achieve what she’s achieved,” Hot said during an interview.

He’s now endorsing her for mayor, suggesting that people “give her a chance.” Linda maintains that she doesn’t know Hot personally.

Turn the page to watch Fondren’s interview. Would you vote for a politician who admitted to being a prostitute in the past?

God makes us new creatures. That is all.

It’s sad in this day and age, this should be considered a big deal in this sexual repressive society we live in. What happens between two consenting adults is no one’s business, nor should it be a big deal..

    • Chey

      Prostitution is illegal ma’am.

      • http://www.facebook.com/courtney.banks.37 Courtney Banks

I know that. But it shouldn’t be.

        • Chey

Lol wow. First time for everything I guess *Kanye shrug*

      • rene

prostitution isn’t illegal everwhere. and she was working at a LEGAL brothel.

  • hollyw

Wait…one thing needs to be cleared up. She was outed by a former fellow brothel owner, who still owns a brothel, who is now backing her campaign..? Does that sound sketch to anyone else..?

    *shrug* Good luck in Mississippi!

Why not?? We have men in office who can spread their little swimmers around and have multiple children by multiple women… They can be drug addicts … squander money and do shady things… yet a former prostitute can’t?? At least she is being forward and telling it like it is up front… Folk love to worry about people’s past. As long as the lady can do her job effectively, then that is all that matters.

She was not upfront about it at all. Another brothel owner outed her.
I use my vote judiciously. A woman that thought it was ok to pimp out another woman in the name of getting money would have to work a lot harder to get my vote.

      • Chey

        I agree.

I say run. All these drug addicts and others with some unsavory backgrounds. I say she runs. Your past is your past. My only question is does she truly feel she can be affective doing the job as mayor.
