He Still Doesn’t Get It: DMX Calls Iyanla Toxic, Wants ‘Fix My Life’ Footage Removed From OWN

Iyanla Fix My Life

Delusional doesn’t even scratch the surface of what DMX’s real issue is, but it’s a pretty safe description to use for a man who, with so many issues of his own that need fixing, calls someone who tries to help him “toxic.”

That’s the word X used to describe Iyanla Vanzant following the airing of his episode on “Iyanla Fix My Life” last Saturday. We already knew the rapper was upset when his publicist put out a statement on Monday morning saying:

“DMX agreed to be a guest on ‘Iyanla: Fix My Life’ with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his ten children. When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not “fix” DMX’s life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage.”

Now DMX is moving one step further with that last allegation, exploring his legal options to get footage of his “Fix My Life” episode removed from the OWN network altogether. He told TMZ Iyanla was only supposed to ask him about his issues with women, not drugs, and he was totally caught off guard by the prodding into his addiction.

“Iyanla set the whole thing up to make me look bad for ratings. That lady is toxic … My last words to her were that she can suck my d**k and she still can.”

As much of a fan as I am of Iyanla, I do know that she can be preachy, but toxic? Sounds to me like he’s projecting his own mess onto someone else. While it may be true that DMX came to Iyanla about women rather than his children, that right there says he has some serious issues if he’s putting random groupies before his kids. And even if the episode stuck to his addiction to women, did he nor his publicist not think his addiction to drugs was going to be discussed as a factor there as well?

The bottom line appears to be DMX just wasn’t ready to do the work, as Iyanla would say. And the response he’s giving to the episode is only discrediting his claims that Iyanla is the one making him look bad and showing no one can do that better than himself.

Do you think DMX has any legal leg to stand on in getting his footage removed from OWN?

His dumb behind should have not sign on the do the show. With the drugs, women, and his personal problems, he should have realized at some point the children will come up especially if he’s a poor example of a father to them. Iyana was trying to get the root of his problems.

He needs to own up to his mess and get some help. I do not believe he has a leg to stand on against the network because his issues with women tie into his drug addiction. I’m not bashing him but he is not willing to do the work necessary for his own healing.

This brother has mad problems, but he’s right about that chick. The way she exploited Maia Campbell was disgusting. She actually came down on her for not being in the hospital with her mom when she was dying. The girl was off her mental meds and didn’t have anyone to look after her. She clearly wasn’t in her right mind. And she even came down on her for religious beliefs. Iyanla is not who she pretends to be. Dmx may be a lot of things, but he’s keeping real about her.

Iyanla only brought to light what was under the surface all this time. It’s not her fault he became an addict and neglected himself to the point he can’t have a relationship with any of his children.
When you tell your child you’d rather be on drugs than attempt a relationship with them, there’s no point on blaming anyone but yourself.

This is just becoming more and more sad. I feel so bad for his kids, father being not only a womanizer and unreliable parent, but also an addict deep into his addiction. As a child of a recovered addict, my father was the same way. No respect for women (or any relationship, really) and was ghost most of my early life. Obviously, there are underlying psychological issues, absolutely NONE of which are ever able to be addressed properly w/o the removal of altering substances. And that is just common sense. He set Iyanla up, not the other way around… First and foremost, GET CLEAN!

Instead of DMX publicist speaking on his behalf abt getting footage removed from the network OWN, his main concern should be getting DMX to the nearest Rehab to save his life! It show all over that DMX was high as the clouds in the sky. He so deep in denial & in his mind its everybody’s fault. How do he think he can be in the public eye & think ppl are that naive not to know he’s blistered is beyond me. I’m not judging but its obvious DMX need to be in a 1 year court appointed rehab, come out & on a 3 months probation which requires a random urine test, attending NA meetings for as long as needed, go back in Rehab for a followup for 30 days. If not he gonna kill himself. We always say we cant help ppl who don’t want to be helped, sometime ppl are so far gone they don’t know how to help themselves. As far as his kids are concern, DMX got to get DMX in order & start loving himself before he can love his children & I pray it don’t be too late.

I think one of the reasons why Iyanla is on OWN is because she has more independence in how she handles her show. From a life coach perspective she may have came there to discuss his issues with women but immediately sensed and addressed that he was high. You cannot fix the relationship until you address the drug issue. If he wants to discuss his relationship with his children why is he mad that poor parenting was in the same sentence? Uh duh. It would behoove him to sign up for part two. He know he need that check.

Dammit Earl, did you really think your problems with women and your children had NOTHING to do with your drug use? In your polluted mind, these are two separate issues!! You’ve got bigger problems than drug abuse, Earl. Mental health problems are real and you have them. Good luck with this lawsuit. I hope they do remove the footage. It’ll be one less excuse you’ll have for your pitiful life.

Dmx blames everyone else but his self, he needs to take responsbility for his faults and not others. Any one who watch that show could see his problems wasn’t about women he is so far gone off drugs. He told his son that he wasn’t going to get off drugs so the next time they see each other is at his funeral. If he don’t get help soon and change his ways he will be found dead of an overdose

i agree. except i hope that he gets it together BEFORE he goes too far. as we can see with Whitney and Michael…doing drugs is a slow suicide.
