Completely misleading and inaccurate article. Software development jobs require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant program (CS, SD, SE, GD). They give you a series of programming tests during the interview process, so you DO have to have studied and have relevant experience, whether professional or academic. Self-taught coders are bad coders, don’t meet education requirements, and won’t get the job. Also, the median and average salary is well over $90k. Software development isn’t a temporary paycheck either. It’s a lifelong pursuit. Also, women comprise less than 2% of software developers, and black ones are virtually non-existent, so the stock photo isn’t fooling anyone -_-
