Lawyer From Ohio Rape Case Plans For Appeal

Ma’Lik Richmond – one of the high school football players convicted of rape in Steubenville, Ohio — shouldn’t be forced to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life because he’s only 16 … and therefor doesn’t have a fully developed brain … this according to Richmond’s lawyer.

Walter Madison went on “Piers Morgan” last night and told the CNN host why he plans to appeal the case — in which Richmond was sentenced to at least one year in juvenile prison for raping a 16-year-old girl with his fingers at a high school party.

    In no way I am excusing these boys actions but since the mother wants to comment about the actions of all involved why not look in your own backyard. What about the actions of the girl to be so drunk that you don’t know that your out of it is unladylike. I have to question if she went to the party alone and where are your girls to help look out for you? I see that there is still an ongoing investigation for the others that may have been involved. I don’t get the sentence, in one breath your treating them like adolescents by sending them to juvie instead of jail with adults but you have them registered as sex offenders which carries over into adulthood. A better message would have been to go along the board with everything adult jail/registry, or juvie and maybe a long probation sentence or something. i don’t’ agree with the sex offender registry.

    I am sorry about what happens to this young man and they should not register as a sex offender. These black guys and athletes just refuse to learn the lesson. They are working overtime helping these private jail owners by keeping the utilization up 95% their goal. I know I am wasting my time trying to school these young men. Anyway, black men, black athletes please, if you seen a girl at a party drunk, sloppy drunk, especially if she is white, please, if you want to “help” her you need to call the police and let the police do the work, if not, you need to leave.

    Ma’lik’s parents need a good azz whoopin. He’s a young black man even a hint of impropriety between him and a little white girl and they will throw his black azz underneath the prison. He should have been taught that the moment his balls dropped.

    If what he did is true a year in juvie is just. The sex registry I would say is wrong. This message has to be clear if you take advantage of a woman/young girl when she is incapacitated that is wrong, wrong, wrong.

        I read it . fingering someone passed out and drunk equals sexual assault. Do you know the definition of sexual assault? I’m going to need you to avail yourself of Google and READ PLEASE. This nonchalant attitude is exactly why this ish happens and goes unreported and swept under the rug. People want to explain it away and qualify it as “it was only a finger” what the h*ll difference does that make? Bottom line is young black men will get the law handed down on their a$$es twice as likely and twice as hard than their white counterparts especially when the victim is a white female. If your grown and have lived black in America you know this and know that you teach your young boys to avoid situations like this like the plague. Football star or not they will figuratively hang your a$$ at the first opportunity. PLEASE READ the stats.

    Um….he’s 16. Surely most (if not all) 16 year olds know rape is bad and you shouldn’t do it. You can’t claim ignorance on this one. Why shouldn’t he be a registered sex offender if he sexually assaulted someone underage? I’m so sick of this case. These boys did wrong. Let them pay for their crimes and stop coddling them.
