November of last year, singer and self-proclaimed bad girl, Rihanna rounded up a crew of 256 fans and journalists to join her on her private jet as she tackled a 7-day, 7-country tour, knowns as the “777 Tour.” While it sounds like it was a wonderful idea and method for fans to get closer to the Bajan beauty and journalists to get the scoop, Rih Rih’s 777 passengers said it was everything but. Journalists and fans alike expressed that the trip was horrible, mainly because they barely saw Rihanna and basic life necessities such as food and sleep were minimal. Rih Rih, however, appears to have enjoyed the tour, as she told fans “This was excellent and I would definitely do it again.” It was so excellent that the 25-year-old superstar decided to document it on film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, concert documentary, Rihanna 777, will premiere on Fox this spring.

The documentary is said to provide viewers with behind-the-scenes footage of Rihanna darting across the world in seven days, while promoting her latest album, Unapologetic. During the tour, the “Diamonds” singer made appearances in Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York.

While some refer to the tour as a publicity stunt that went horribly wrong, it doesn’t appear to have gone as wrong as some would like to believe it did. Since promoting the new album the goal, it seems that Rih Rih’s mission was accomplished. Unapologetic debuted at No. 1 on on the Billboard 200 and the single “Diamonds” peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, on the same day that the tour wrapped up.

Rihanna 777 is a product of Fenty Films in conjunction with  Love Live and Gravíte Productions. It is slated to premiere on Monday, May 6th.

What do you think of Rih Rih documenting the tour? Do you plan on tuning in?
