Lil Wayne Tweets ‘I’m Good’ After Reportedly Being In Critical Condition After Sizurp Binge

It appears TMZ has lost it’s crown as being the most credible source for breaking gossip news. After sending every rap fan in the world into a tizzy over news that Lil Wayne had been hospitalized after a syrup binge and read his last rites, Weezy F Baby himself shut down the talk in one simple tweet:

The panic started with the report below from TMZ which read:

The 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures.  He was released Wednesday but just hours later one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious.

Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize.  He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.

We’re told Wayne is currently “unstable,” and has been placed in an induced coma.  He is breathing through tubes.

We’re told several people are at Wayne’s bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way.  Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably.

Sources say there’s evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.

We’re told Wanye’s stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.

Since the original report, TMZ had made several updates, including removing a line that the rapper had been read his last rites. As of 8:15, they said Wayne’s mother had reportedly boarded a plane to LA and no decisions about Weezy’s current state would be made until she arrived

Members of YMCMB have downplayed TMZ’s reporting, with rapper Mack Maine being especially outspoken on Twitter about the site’s news. He recently tweeted:

Thank goodness this appears to be a case of careless reporting. But let’s hope Wayne does get a hold on his health so this story isn’t true one day — and that he’s the one who actually sent that tweet, since TMZ is skeptical, putting in their latest update at 6:30 pm PT:

Wayne is sleeping right now … which is odd, because he just tweeted saying he’s OK and thanking people for the prayers and love.

We’ll try to keep you updated as best we can.

Lil Wayne needs to chill out….chill out with the drugs, the derogatory rap lyrics, the ignorant rants, the multiple baby mommas, and the cough syrup…..just relax for a little.

  • Elle

I get on sites like this to be amused by the ignorance surrounding someone else’s life… people have a lot to say about you rather you or doing good and bad… and the fact people arent living with celebrities and know exactly what they do on a living basis everyday brings a lot of imagination about. -_-

  • Keisha Samoht

Now im hearing it was a cruel joke. If it really was a joke, whomever is responsible for it is harsh and has no kind of soul. Would that be considered slander?

  • Nikki

Drug and alcohol abuse is unfortunately common in the entertainment industry, usually due to untreated depression. It killed Health Ledger, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Judy Garland, Pimp C, Jimi Hendrix, Billie Holiday, Bruce Lee, Anna Nicole Smith, and Brittany Murphy. All were too young to die!

If you’re going to bed and waking up in a hotel room all alone, making millions every year and no one to genuinely share it with, and you have a hard to trusting people because you don’t know who actually is there for you and who is selling stories; chances are you will find yourself depressed.

  • A tweet went out so it must be credible, Wayne said he’s ok! What’s there to say someone in his camp didn’t send it. That gremlin spews hate every time he opens his mouth so nada for him. “Praying” for him, pfft not.

  • FromUR2UB

OK, was he hospitialized for this stupid stuff or not?

  • sela22

most of the news reports, not always, come from medical personnel attending to patient —
an “induced coma” is very, very serious – maybe this is why Nicki was late for idol and wore hood and dark glasses — sorry this is happening to Lil Wayne but he is holding on to bad habits –
I don’t know what else could have been done to help Lil Wayne stop
Lil Wayne is highly admired, respected, recognized – what else can be done to help?
Dear God let him pull through and start fresh and new

    • Annette

Hospital personnel aren’t allowed to tell reporters anything about their patients due to patient privacy laws. Unless somebody breaks the law, it’s usually family / friends giving the press stories about the condition of the person. So friend of a friend from his camp could’ve been trying to get paid, and got their story mixed up.

But very observant. I didn’t even think that could be the reason why Nicki was late and wearing those big ol’ glasses.

Tmz have people working for them everywhere. They give people a buck & they start singing. Im sure it was a nurse who told tmz about the situation, not even caring she’s risking her job.

Ive seen stuff from toya, birdman, mack main, t.I & his daughter. They are all saying its not as bad as tmz is reporting. So it could be 2 things, they dont want to scare reginae. Shes old enough to read these things & im sure it was scary to here he’s in a come. or it could be the person that reported to tmz dramatized the story, tmz wanting to be the 1st w/ the news ran w/ it w/out checking the info. If thats the case, tmz should be ashamed of themselves

Seizures are extremely serious and nothing minor — Prayers for Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne is the Greatest Rapper – but sometimes he does the daring things – stop slipping
WEE Love you — Get Well Soon –Speedy Recovery —
Too many seizures are not good – not good at all

  • Not just TMZ, it was on all the major news Networks. MSNBC said he was in a medically induced coma. Is he really alright, or did someone else send the text?

  • I’m definitely not a fan of his, but if he does make it and get better, I really do hope that he goes to rehab and gets himself together.

  • u know it’s true

These days you just don’t know until it’s on the news. From an actual news company, not an entertainment news program.

For Wayne to be one of my least favorite rappers, i got scared when i heard. I knew it was due to pills because to me he glorifies it. Now that i know it was Syrup, i am really scared. I thought that after the other rapper ( sorry cant recall who he was) died from the exact thing that the entire music industry had left it alone. I was really surprised by my reaction… i cant stand wayne for alot of his ways, but at end of the day, i got a lot of respect for him.

    • You would think they, including Pimp C; would’ve learned from DJ Screw I can’t say for certain that he was the one who started that whole syrup crap, but I’ve heard that he popularized it. There are plenty of tales that go back for years and years and stories of today about celebrities and noncelebrities, alike; going way too soon (due to the use of drugs, no matter the kind). Sadly, that hasn’t stopped the epidemic; and it won’t in the future. I am not a fan of him, either; but I cringed when I heard this. When his seizures first started being reported, I always felt that his habit was the cause. He continues, though; knowing full well that he has children who would be devastated, if he passes. Sadly, that isn’t enough. I know addiction is a disease, but it was a choice to put the syrup to his mouth; before the addiction. Still, I feel bad for anyone going through any kind of crisis.

      • Keisha Samoht

Yeah i had totally forgotten about DJ Screw… the first time i head of Syrup was i think in a 36Mafia song… i was like what 8, 9 yrs old having NO idea what they meant… for some reason i felt scared for his kids… most of all Reginae (?) i know she would have taken it the hardest out of all his kids and maybe even harder than her mom and all of the other kids moms… I pray that he gets it together. Send him to a place where they wont document him and take advantage of his recovery process. Like they will if he does Celebrity Rehab.

        • I agree. He, Lindsay Lohan, Chris Brown, Charlie Sheen , and countless others need to get all of those “yes” men and hangers-on from around them. Real friends and family would give them the real and tell them that they are not ok. There are too many people, including friends, entourage, and some dirty fam; who continue to let these folks spiral because the person is their money-making machine. Not I am not saying no one has tried that tough love approach with any of these people, as I don’t know what goes on behind closed doors; but the situation I described above happens too often. To complicate things, though; these are grown people who can’t be forced to change. Look at how many times Charlie and Lindsay have been to rehab. They have to make the decisions themselves, that they are ready to change. Once they make that decision, then rehab or something else could be effective (def not Celeb Rehab, like you said). If that were to happen with any of them, they would have to get those toxic folks away from them; once they get out. For some, it might happen (before it’s too late). For others, they won’t ever make the decision to change; which is sad. People die on the daily from drug use.

          • Keisha Samoht

The Betty Ford clinic’s doors are always open and im sure are ALWAYS discreet.

  • Fair and Balanced

Are you kidding me, he did this to himself yet another person throwing away their life and blessings. While I wish him well he would do well to thank God for his talents and try to live a life worthy of that blessing.

    • Keisha Samoht

exactly what i said. but i still was concerned… i think what made me concered was when i heard his mom was flying out there to sign take him off life support…

  • So Cal Brown

Who knows…but it would make sense for his camp to shoot down that info to give his mother a chance to get to her son…..I guess time will tell…

  • Trisha_B

I hope he gets better. I feel he was having a withdrawal, those symptoms seem like those of someone who is going thru a serious case of withdrawal. That syrup binge doesnt sound right, & I always dont believe Tmz. He’s so young, so I hope he let’s that life style go for his kids.

  • deedee

RITES. It’s last rites, not “rights.”

  • EasyReader

Just for the sake of argument…is it 100 percent certain that he sent the tweet himself?

    • Keisha Samoht

      good piont…

    • TRUTH IS

Exactly…I thot cell phones weren’t allowed in ICUs. I believe someone from his camp sent it. TMZ tries to report true stories. Time will tell. Mack Maine should have tweeted a pic also. These ppl I tell ya

  • Grant

Please correct the spelling in the title – it’s “syrup”. 😉

    • Actually…

No, when referring to the drink that Wayne is known to drink, it’s sizzurp, or “lean”. Cough syrup mixed with Sprite.

      • Grant

I’m from Houston, you can simply say syrup too. 🙂

      • Keisha Samoht

i didnt know it was also known as lean… well i guess people were still doing it after Pimp C od on it… just using another name…

      • wow! i never even heard of any of that syrup drink.

    • aDawn217

Please correct the spelling in the title – it’s “sizzurp.” 😉
