Nearly two years ago, news broke that daytime talk show hosted by Queen Latifah was in the works. Now, the Sony Pictures produced show has an official premiere date! According to the Queen’s website, The Queen Latifah Show will make its CBS debut Monday, September 16th.
Shadow and Act reports that the multi-topic, syndicated daytime talk show will feature a host of celebrity interviews, live musical performances, comedy and everyday human interest stories. Ironically, it is scheduled to air at the same time as popular daytime talk show, The View.
According to the show’s press release, the executive team responsible for production of The Queen Latifah Show includes: Executive Producer, Corin Nelson (Chelsea Lately), Co-Executive Producer Todd Yasui (The Tonight Show) and Supervising Producers Jack Mori (The Oprah Winfrey Show), Catherine McKenzie (Good Morning America), David Harte (The Late, Late Show With Craig Ferguson) and Sierra Lindsey (MTV, Obama Campaign).
“These producers bring tremendous experience, diversity of background and some of the most creative minds in this business to our show. This dream team, combined with the multi-talented Queen Latifah and powerhouse producing partners Flavor Unit and Overbrook Entertainment, position us for an incredibly strong launch and a long, healthy run,” said Sony Executive V.P. of Syndication and Reality Programming, Holly Jacobs.
This isn’t Queen’s first time venturing into the talk show arena. If you recall, she had another show entitled, The Queen Latifah Show, which ran between 1999 and 2001.
The new and most likely imrpoved Queen Latifah Show is produced by Flavor Unit, Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures.
