Nene Goes In On Her ‘Hungriest’ Castmate Kandi, Saying She Had An Attitude From Jump At Her Dinner Party

You didn’t think the drama was over that soon did you?

As if it wasn’t enough to go in on Twitter while Sunday night’s episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta aired, Nene turned around and went in even further on her Bravo blog. For the most part, she started off explaining her schedule and why she found her castmates’ tardiness to her dinner party so disrespectful — a view most fans of the show completely understood. But then Nene made that sharp turn left into shadeville when she decided to go in on one of her cast members in particular, Kandi. Here’s what she wrote:

Gregg, being the gentleman that he is, offered to give a to-go plate to the hungriest of the group, Kandi, who needs to stay prayed up! From what I could see, she had an attitude from the beginning. Why even come on a trip if you’re going to pick everything apart? You can’t make a wrong right, and the last thing she needs to be thinking about after midnight is Pink’s and Fat Burger! That’s for-rel-yal!

Well dang. I’m still having a hard time figuring out the source of Nene and Kandi’s disgust for each other, especially after they had that little “talk” in Anguilla. But obviously times have changed quite a bit since then because after nearly every show they’ve got something crazy to say about one another. Unfortunately, Kandi wasn’t the only one on the receiving end of Nene’s blog wrath. After going in on her, she decided to make a list of her “laugh out loud and girl stop lying best moments of the show” and here they are:


1. Phaedra saying you can’t make a ho a Housewife! Oops!
2. Kenya saying she GAVE me a table! Girl, stop lying, I have the cancelled check.
3. Phaedra saying Kenya bought that bootie at Home Depot! LOL!
4. Me saying you can eat the nail polish off your nails! LOL!
5. Kenya saying, “This girl is so dumb.”
6. Cynthia saying she laid her clothes out like it was the first day of school and even put her shoes beside them! LOL!
7. Kenya with all the name dropping in her interviews! Girl, let us see the movies already, LOL!

    Let’s face it, Nene had that party for herself. She wanted to show them how large she was living… Here, let me scout out a mansion theat Bravo is going to pay for, let me hire people to prepare and staff a dinner in my rented Hollywood Hills home, finally, let me have Bravo arrange for the biggest limo they could…. imagine how she felt when she had to drive down to pick them up from the limo… LOL! Then when they didn’t make it to dinner on time…all her plans to show off and flaunt her success blew up in her face… thats why she was so pissed… expecting them to make it to a 9pm dinner, the same evening they flew in was just selfish. On the other hand, whenever they found out the dinner was that night at 9pm, one of the other women should have spoken up!!!! They are all scared of Nene

    I would like to know why in the world did Nene schedule a dinner party anyway after they flew in from Atlanta and the time difference between the two cities as well. Lets not forget that you have to arrive early at the airport for security checks and Lord help them if they had a layover. I would have been tired too. All of that could/should have been done the next day. That being said they should have at least called to explain themselves for their tardiness. Plus later in the episode Nene stated that she is often late to events because the other women are as well. Well you can’t have it both ways. Either you are on time or you are not. Don’t think that you can do things to others and get mad when the favor is returned to you. It’s just not right. I take it that all of the drama was a set up for Vegas. Can’t wait to see how the tale unfolds.

      I know right. I was thinking why would you have a dinner party when they just got there. She should of had the dinner the next night and let everybody rest from the flight.

      At first I did give them that benefit of doubt. However, after thinking about it, if they wanted to make sure they would get there in time, they could have chosen an early morning flight. The reason I state this is due to my experience of flying from the East coast to the West Coast. Some years back, after I was working and going to school in my home state of NC, I decided to take an internship in Richland, WA. For this flight, I did have a layover near Alabama, but have managed to make it there in the afternoon given the time difference. The HR representative for the program was nice to take us out to eat and to do some grocery shopping that day although some interns came in late.Therefore, I think in this case, most of the cast mates were probably too sidity to take morning flights and instead chose to take afternoon flights. Although I am not a frequent flyer, I have flown enough to know that you do have some control in selecting your flights depending on your carrier and how much you are willing to spend. Because ATL and LA have major airport hubs, I am sure they could have attained a flight with minimum layovers if not a direct flight. The bottom line is if they had taken morning flights, they would have had time to shower, eat lunch, and perhaps rest for three hours before attending Nene’s event. I do agree that Nene could have better timed the dinner. However, all of these women were trifling all around.

        Thanks for your response, but your comments was based on you and your experiences as an intern/job and not a vacation for pleasure. I too have lived in Atlanta and I know all too well about the airport. I often wonder if anyone considered the ages of the women (mid 30′s to early 40′s) or the fact that they have families and other responsibilities.. Why did Cynthia agree to the dinner anyway when they were leaving shortly thereafter? Who paid for & scheduled the flights? Simply put, Nene still should have had that dinner on another day or a reception at the place that they were staying so that they did not have to do any serious travel on their first day. Nap or none, I’m sure that they were just tired from the events leading of to the trip.

    NeNe had the right to turn them away because they did embarrass her. She had this huge dinner for THEM. Yes, it was for her to show off to them but it was still for them. All they had to do was call and NeNe would have let them in. Yeah Kandi said they are always late and Pheadra reminded us of “CP” time but there is no excuse for not picking up the phone. But all the stuff NeNe did posting that list and that stuff about Kandi was unnecessary. She needs to read that speech that Gab Union made the other day.

    NeNe was right to be upset about the girls showing up 3 hours late, however it was not cool for her to come out to the driveway and read them like cheap novels. She could have totally handled that with more tact. I am in no way a Kim Zolciak fan, but I do recall an episode where Cynthia threw NeNe a success party and she didn’t show up for like 2 hours and had the nerve to get irritated with Kim for not being able to stay longer after waiting that long (especially since they didn’t/don’t like each other anyway). Pot meet Kettle. NeNe has grown in a lot of ways but clearly she still has a ways to go. I normally like Kandi but she got on my nerves this episode, Kenya is Kenya, the jury is still out on Portia and Cynthia, and Phaedra’s lying tail is not the southern belle she wants everyone to believe she is.

      Porsha has “fog in her head” and has “a lot of traffic upstairs.” In other words, Porsha lacks common sense & typical everyday street smarts, and doesn’t have a lot going on in the intelligence department. 265 days in year, she can’t have people over when Kordell isn’t over, she can’t make coffee, and next week, she can’t go anywhere without Kordell’s permission (just some of the MANY examples that Porsha is a “question mark.” I guess Kordell won’t allow Porsha to be up past her bedtime.

    Why do these women still bother to go on vacation when they obviously are not friends, just cast mates. They do this so they fight and start an argument. Nene.. at a certain point I thought she was outgrowing the show cuz she’s so rich! and Kandi claims to already have money from her songwriting, why do these women need this show for money, why oh why?

      I think they have to do it as part of the show. That is why Kim left. She didn’t have anymore interest in interacting with the rest of the ladies.

    Andy Cohen is paying for them to stay in that house! NoNo needs to stop bashing Kandi!! any actress would have her part but for some strange reason gay white dudes find her endearing..I guess they were not watching the same show… I believe it to be a Mammy complex.Has the heffa ever heard of jetlag?? she should of showed off her rented home on the next day.It’s demeaning to have your friends beg to be allowed in your home.Don’t get me wrong they should of called to say they were going to be late. after NoNo’s hype woman called on the way and she said to turn around they should just turned around.NoNo is not a legit actress she’s a fad like Charo and Sanjaya…Something you see on a Vh1 clip show countdown!

    I gotta say Nene was right on this one. They were completely wrong. But my thing was (and I say this because I have friends and relatives who have time issues), knowing how they are, she should have had them stay at her spot that first night – that way they were there and she did not have to worry about them venturing to her house after that long flight. They could have gone to the rental the next morning to get settled. But that sort of mess is why I do not host events at my house. I cut that out years ago. Too many black folks think it is perfectly OK to just show up whenever. No consideration or respect for people’s time, money or effort at all. SMH.

    This was the first time Kandi really got on my nerves. She know better, but i think it may have been set that way to add drama. What better way for the girls to go on a vacay w/o drama?

    Kandi is my fellow Taurus and I can tell you if we haven’t eaten and we’re hungry and the headache starts setting in we will have a straight up sho’ nough attitude. Now Kandi and I are around the same age and I’ve learned to just be quiet in those situations because I know it can get ugly. They were dead wrong and the fact that they are always late is not a good excuse to come to dinner 3 hours late. If you were as hungry as I think you were you would have left the other girls and been there on time.

          LOL! I’m trying to give the sister the benefit of the doubt on that one. The flight is only 5 hours 15 minutes, people don’t typically jump right in the shower when they get home from work after an 8 hour day. But she definitely should have been getting showered and changed before going to dinner otherwise why else were they 3 hours late.

    I’m with NeNe!!!!!!!! She’s paying for them to stay in a rented luxury home out in LA, invites them to a catered dinner @ her home, and they arrive THREE HOURS LATE W/O CALLING????????? NeNe had every right to kick those heffas out of her home. Not to mention, Phaedra & Kandi behaved as if they had every right to be there despite disrespectfully showing up late THREE HOURS LATE. At least Cynthia & Kenya were remorseful, and as always, Porsha had “fog in her head.” “Eat the polish off your nails” was too hilarious.

      I feel like there is way more to the story, there was a time gap from when they got to the house to when they were in the car, not to mention, they flew in hella late, she could of at least had the dinner the next night BUT reading them in the driveway like their The Help wasnt the way to go, idc how late there are you dont disrespect people like that, especially since she STILL had guests in her home STILL eating, I get why Nene was mad but that entire driveway scene was embarassing and wasnt warranted for someone just being late to dinner, dang…

        It doesn’t matter!!!!!!!!!! If they knew about this dinner DAYS IN ADVANCE & chose to arrive THE DAY OF THE DINNER, that’s on them, not NeNe. If the dinner was @ 9 and they arrived @ midnight, then she was absolutely right for not allowing them in. Also, NeNe said on WWHL that the crew was cleaning up, & dinner guests had just left. NeNe had every right to check them, they were guests in her home, and she was renting for them to stay in a luxury home as well, NeNe is 100% right.
