Is Tamron Hall Being Wooed By CNN? The Network Is Said to Want Her for Mornings

With Soledad O’Brien’s pending departure from CNN’s morning line up, there’s a vacancy at the anchor desk. It seemed all but certain that Erin Burnett, an evening anchor with the network, would be taking up the position alongside Chris Cuomo, the two working together to revive CNN’s ailing morning ratings. Now it appears Erin Burnett isn’t interested in the job. Radar Online says it was Burnett’s “diva demands.” The Atlantic Wire says money was an issue. Burnett is already making $2.5 million on the evening news and wanted more to make the move. Either way, now it looks like the deal is off and CNN President Jeff Zucker is now looking elsewhere to make a hire.

Could Tamron Hall be in the running? The New York Post reported as much today. Also in the running, the newspaper says, are Suzanne Malveaux and  Brooke Baldwin.

In the case of Tamron, TVNewser says “not true.”

“A source in the agent community confirms that Zucker is fond of Hall, but they note that NBC News and MSNBC are fond of her too. More importantly, our source says, Hall has at least a year left on her contract with MSNBC, making any potential jump very difficult,” the blog writes, noting it could happen at some point, but not in time to staff up this morning show.

Oh well… We’ll just have to keep tuning in to NBC if we want to see Hall at work.

Big mistake Tamron, CNN is a joke and hasn’t been a reputable news station since Ted Turner sold it to the Hollywood crowd who turned it into a entertainment first circus. MSNBC is much better.

They need to bring back T.J. Holmes he had a large audience on Saturday mornings most women tuned in just too see him and I am sure he would bring back large ratings Randy Kaye is totally boring along with Frederika Whitfield shes nice and sweet just boring they need to revamp that entire network all except Don Lemon please include Wolf Blitzer

Sorry but TJ Holmes deserves to be unemployed. Who in their right mind leaves CNN for BET????? That’s like leaving the Titanic, which is already sinking, to jump into plastic boat with a huge hole in it. I also agree get rid of everyone but Don Lemon. He’s the only one who asked the real questions and if something seems stupid, he calls the other reporters out on it. Tamron needs to stay where she is now that MSNBC is doing what they should have did years ago instead of denying it. They are the Liberal counterpart to Fox’s Conservation channel. Back when they had the great Phil Donahue was on, they fired him for his liberal views because they didn’t want to seem biased. If they would have stuck with that format, I think MSNBC would be a bigger channel than what it is now.

I think TJ ran with an opportunity to bring some much needed gravitas to the programming at BET. BET didn’t know what to do with it unfortunately. It wasn’t a poor decision because CNN wasn’t treating him respectfully. Another opportunity will come for him.
