From TMZ
The family of “Selena” star Lupe Ontiveros is incredibly upset she was left out of last night’s “In Memoriam” presentation at the Oscars … despite appearing in dozens of major films over the past 30 years.

Ontiveros — who passed away in July 2012 —  had roles in “Real Women Have Curves”, “As Good as it Gets”, and “The Goonies” … but is best known for her role as Yolanda Saldivar, the woman who murdered Selena.

Omg! I didn’t know she had even passed away Hmm thats messed up… that shows who the Oscars still cater to… y’all know you thinking too..

  • Shameful, she was wonderful. May she RIP

“I can’t believe I killed my best friend!
I ….wanna…talk to my father” lol, loved her in Selena. Rip Lupe!

  • The Oscars generally does a terrible job with the “In Memoriam” segment. They left out a lot of people this year again along with her, including Andy Griffith (!), Ben Gazzara, Larry Hagman. They should just ask Turner Classic Movies to do the “In Memoriam” for them. They (TCM) always do an excellent job.

Larry Hagman was famous for tv. The Oscars never acknowledge tv actors, remember how they snubbed Farrah Fawcett?

      • He was, but he had a movie career as well before he made it to television. A number of people on the list switched back and forth between the two mediums. I just feel that they should give people their due. Wherever they are, they were all actors.

Name one notable film that starred Larry Hagman? Don’t worry I’ll wait….. He achieved stardom from Tv and the Oscars do not pay homage to tv legends.

          • “Ensign Pulver”
            “Harry and Tonto”
            “The Group”

They did include Andy Griffith in their “In Memoriam”, he was in the middle of the montage.

      • No, he definitely wasn’t there; I kept rewinding that segment to see if I missed him. It’s really a shame.

        • Mia

Now THAT was a snub as Andy Griffith appeared in two great films before turning to television.

You need to look at it again, then. In the meantime, STFU!!!!!!!

I almost had forgot she died last summer, but yeah that was bogus that the Oscars had left her out of their “In Memorial” thingy. At least TCM didn’t forget when they have their TCM Remembers airing in December.

  • I didn’t know she died!!! She was also in Our Family Wedding, which is one of my fav movies… so sad! RIP!!
