Reasons Why Black People Love Instagram and Twitter So Much– A Little Too Much

Thanks to a survey in 2012 by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project,it’s been proven that Black people use social media like Twitter and Instagram more than Whites and Latinos. This is such an interesting statistic and it led me to thinking–why are Black people all over Twitter and Instagram? I’ve got a few theories:

1. Public Shyte-Talking:

Black people have been playing “The Dozens” since before the internet was ever a thing. Twitter made the these “slam books” a popular, real-time Shyte-talking session. Often times, you can find various conversations that start with a subtweet and end with two users going back and forth until the other logs off.

    maybe, just maybe African Americans are enjoying their freedom of speech? After hearing stories of oppression and being bullied into silence maybe instagram and twitter have become vehicles of expression? OR maybe the two sites are becoming a part of AA culture!?!?

    Anyways, this article states HOW people use instagram and twitter, not why they use it.

    Black people love instagram the same reason that others do, the chance to act the fool without consequences. Seriously people, that stuff will come back to haunt you. Just say no to trolling.

      Definitely, and with this trend, people just enjoy talking smack and knowing that the person they offended can’t punch them in the face.
