More People Are Using Prepaid Debit Card, Despite All the Fees

With so many people struggling to make ends meet, prepaid debit cards have risen in popularity. The problem is, these cards have big fees.

“There are initiation fees, maintenance fees, and paper statement fees along with payment inquiry fees and don’t forget the fees on theses cards to reload with your own money range from $3.95 to $5.00 every time…” Black Enterprise reports.

However, these cards have become one of the fastest growing forms of electronic payment, up 20 percent with more growth expected in the int he next year.

    I hope people really look at these cards and the enormous fees that they change. Like the author inidicated and I tell people, you can get that cheaper with a credit union or a good bank.

    I know a few people who deal in illegal transactions to say the least and these cards are what they use to keep their money on. But in other cases these cards are used to prey on people who cannot open a bank account or do not understand how to get a bank account with a debit card.
