While people have been been giving Beyonce back-seat advice about overexposure, Mrs. Carter  just keeps rolling — and promoting herself. And she proved the naysayers wrong. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she was the television ratings queen last week, with her documentary and Oprah Winfrey interview topping the ratings charts.

The two Beyonce TV specials pulled in big numbers for HBO and OWN. In fact, the singer’s documentary, Life Is But a Dream, is HBO’s most-watched documentary effort in nearly 10 years, reports THR. And her sit-down with Oprah had 1.3 million viewers earlier that same night.

Beyonce’s Life Is But a Dream pulled three times the ratings of recent first-runs for HBO’s Sunday series Girls. Over at OWN, the Beyonce episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter topped all of ad-supported cable’s non-sports programs in the targeted women 25-to-54 demographic for the time period.

Beyonce was the director and executive producer for the autobiographical television film. It was released on February 16th on HBO , in conjunction with Parkwood Entertainment, Knowles’ management company.

Did you watch both specials? And share your thoughts on this story: Is Beyonce a mogul?

I liked the documentary, it was entertaining. I really want to go to one of her concerts Say what you want about Bey but you cant say she cant put on a show.

Lol! I just thought it was real slick of her to use BIC to promote the show. Some people have commented on how she parades her nephew around, even has pulled him on stage while accepting awards ( she & Jay), but kept her baby in the dark……literally!

    Mogul? No. Diva? Yes

Thanks to the haters, her success continues. Why sit through two hours of this woman only to say how much you hate her? Get your life together.

while she is very successful and talented very few people take her seriously…. Beyonce is powerful musical machine ran by a good team. I watched like others because I was expecting to see a different side of Bey, I don’t understand how her music can be so beautiful and easy to relate to but she seems disconnected and contrived. I wanted to see something new and different from her. She seems like she has been the same for years where is the new ? same everything to me

Is Beyonce a mogul? She certainly doesn’t seem like someone who is running things.

      I concur.

  • Just saying!!

I tried to watch the Oprah special but I couldn’t finish it because Oprah was actin like an annoying Stan. The documentary was okay. It was better than I expected but I didn’t learn much of anything new about her other than that she swears (which she said she didn’t do a couple of years ago). I still feel that this was a very self centered move though. What 31 yr old decides they are so special that they create their own doumentary (which would obviously only show the singer in a certain light). But yea I think people think it was great because Oprah endorsed it (and everything she endorses turns into gold) and because it’s about Beyonce. But idk who u think she’s proving wrong…everyone knew her stans would be on that. She’s sill way overexposed. I thought I was one of her biggest fans and even I’M getting sick of her. That’s a serious sign of overload!!

I remember when she said she would never swear in her music too. So much for that. Anywho, I would have loved to see her waking up in the morning with crust in her eyes and her hair messy or even weavless perhaps? Having a play date with her sissy and nephew. Maybe her and Jay preparing breakfast together? Idk just something more personal and not staged. Not even a hair was out of place…
