With ex-husband Chad Ochocino making headlines for being in hot pursuit of women, many have been wondering whether or not reality star Evelyn Lozada is also open to meeting someone new and loving again. The Jasmine Brand recently caught up with the 37-year-old Brooklyn native at Tami Roman’s nail polish launch event. During her interview she discussed finding love after divorce, her relationship with Iyanla Vanzant and coping with critics. Check out a portion of her interview below.

On what she desires in a future husband:

“I just really want my future husband, very God fearing. That is something that is really important to me especially the last eight months. People say that you go through stuff and your God’s best friend; He truly got me through so much that is first and foremost. What ever he looks like is fine, I guess that will all come. And this time I’m like ‘I’m not choosing…’ I’m going to let Him bring whoever that person is to me…even if it takes three years, it’ fine, I’m cool.”

On becoming accustomed to being harshly criticized:

“I’m so used to it, I’m so used to controversy so if there isn’t any… I’ve grown to have thick skin. I’ve grown to know everybody’s going to have an opinion and I’ve been called every name in the book. It’s just a part of putting yourself out there.”

On continuing her relationship with Iyanla Vanzant:

“Iyanla has been such a blessing to me. We recently talked over text. She has just really helped me through my whole process. She just really helped me open my eyes to things that you don’t think about, or things growing up that effect you today. She’s been great and she came at a time in my life when I really needed some type of guidance. It made say, ‘Why am I the way I am?’ Why am I so angry and why do I accept the things that I accept. She’s just been great.”

I know people make poor choices. But if she wants a God fearing man, Lozada has to be right with herself first. She has already catagorized herself as she likes to fight and has a foul mouth. It seems like almost every reponse she has to a question being asked she uses “f” ing this “f” that. Lozada cannot give answers with having a mouth like a sewer. Why would a so called “christian man” in his right mind want to get with somebody that has a foul mouth like her as well as a man who is not a Christian? Since it seems like all she go for is athletes. (I am sure there is a sucker of athlete out there will crazy enough get with that.) I still don’t like her and will not be watching basketball wives or support any of her business endeavors.

Things don’t happen when one sits around waiting for an invisible, nonexistent entity.

    • Yes Gawd

Well you wait for WHOEVER you wait for and Ill wait on who i wait for…DEAL. You dont need to tell me anything about who I wait for since you DONT know him. Thanks….

      • Kahekili

I beg your pardon, little Miss, but was my comment addressed to you? It certainly wasn’t. I don’t know how you arrived at the conclusion that I was telling YOU who to wait for.

        • YES gAWD

Are you that DUMB or do you think people cant READ what you wrote…You clearly call whoever WE wait for invisible and non-existent. So if thats not telling us about who we wait for I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. I was born at night, not last night sweetheart. Now have a nice day… Cus believe me mine will be BLESSED.

          • Kahekili

I beg your pardon, little Miss, but was my comment addressed to you?

  • Mia

Reminds me of fat sloppy men who want fit women. Mija have a seat chile, far far away… Gon’ now!

  • Kitsy

Evelyn is from the Bronx! Her mom and sister still live there.

    • bluekissess

      And the point

      • Kitsy

They said Brooklyn. Just pointing that out. smh

  • bluekissess

Good for her but for some odd reason I’m not interested, amazed or can be congratulatory. I’m aware the process of change but,the picture she painted of herself is way bigger than her.

    • yeppers

It might be bigger than her…But who of us havent been in messes that we felt were too big to get out of…Hers was just public. Nothing is bigger than GOD and if she has decided its time to LISTEN and get up out this mess she in, then there aint a man or woman on earth that can stop her. Everyone has a right to change….no one is doomed to failure because of something they did on a reality show. No matter how crazy it may have looked. If she doesnt like the picture SHE painted, then paint another one hell. Im not interested in her life either, but I dont want to see someone trying to fly right torn down, not even a nobody on the streets. Stay blessed.

      • bluekissess

I’m sorry you didn’t comprehend my comment. I did say good for her and everybody changes. The rest was my opinion.

If you want the next man to be God-fearing, try not fornicating with him.

Im soooo glad to hear this. Eve has been FRONT ROW in my church now for several Sundays, I think shes become a regular member when shes in LA. and I can see that the word is really touching her. Yes Im there to get my word too lol. But just seeing that what pastor is saying is really getting thru to her and the importance of a God Fearing man and not just a man with money is amazing. The strength my pastor shows thru his word and his family is something I think Evelyn wants to have. Devon has even been a speaker when she was there and I think the love he has for Megan has really touched her and its something she wants. So I believe her. for once….Go get it EVE!

    • yeppers

SMH at the thumbing down of a comment uplifting Eve for speaking positive about having God in her life for once. Shows the tru ignorance of our society. Rather watch someone wreck their life so that you can make disparaging comments. Soon as someone speaks the real because they are learning to be BETTER aint nobody got time for that. Well you know what I hope Eve continues on this path just to make all the judgmental people who lives are apparently perfect MAD as HELL.

      • Kahekili

Ignorance has nothing to do with it.

    • sabrina

OMG GIRL, I LOVE THAT CHURCH! And I peeped her shouting it out on Twitter too. When I lived in LA, I was there ERR SUNDAY! Now I just have to depend on Live Streaming. Pastor Toure is amazing! And so are DeVon and Meagan! I believe Evelyn has changed too, and if God can forgive AND forget about her past and just look towards her future, that’s the ONLY thing that matters.

      • yeppers

Yesss Girl that church is BOMB! But yeah, its a blessing the people that PT is able to attract to that church, some real movers and shakers that with the guidance can really shape some of our media/shows and music in a positive direction. Im glad Evelyn and others are getting the REAL DEAL.

        • sabrina

          Amen my sistah. Amen.

    • Aaliyah Noelle

Everytime people like her fvck up,they all of a sudden find God. But when everything is good,God is the last thing on their mind. You know how when people go to jail, they all of a sudden so into religon then when they come out and forget all about Him and go back to their old ways(most of em be like that)? Well, thats what this lil girl sounds like. If she really feels what ur preacher saying..GOOD… im glad. I just hope she means what shes saying… Im sure we’ll c her on bbw showing out tho.

      • yeppers

But we all FK up….so is it a problem to find and look to GOD when you do??? I didnt know he took issue with that….HMMMM thats interesting. The one we should ALL look to when we make mistakes is him as WE WILL ALL MAKE THEM…some big and some small. Are you perfect???? none of us have lived perfect lives and no sin is bigger than another. So i wouldnt bash a man for going to prison and finding God or others. Now if they get out and cant stay on the straight path then thats what happens. WE ALL FALL DOWN, who is anyone to jugde HOW MANY TIMES WE FALL. We will see her behavior on BBW and if she falls again that means shes not ready…but I dont deem anyone a lost soul because they FALL DOWN OR HOW MANY TIMES. who does that???

        • Ann

There is nothing wrong in finding God, I think you have to be sincere about living for God and try to do the best you can in not going back to you old ways.

  • D Boner

Uh-oh! Tim Tebow better watch out!!! This tropical bird is ready to land!!! XD

    • Aaliyah Noelle

      “tropical bird”

  • NeaJ

This should’ve been a requirement from the door! At least she’s finally seen the light though. I wish her well

  • Sol Rothstein

Maybe you should try being SINGLE and finding you.

  • Nikki

I hope Iyanla has helped her change.

  • Kelsey

Blah blah blah. She will be the one cheezing it up for the cameras with the next known womanizer dirt bag bc his pocket is kind of deep. Ev spare me
