Well, it looks like the TLC movie is definitely ready to go.

It was announced a couple of weeks ago that Lil Mama would play the role of Left Eye in VH1’s TLC biopic. They’d already cast former The Game cast member Drew Sidora as T-Boz, so the only thing left was to find Miss Chilli.

The search is over as VH1 revealed that Chilli would be played by actress and singer KeKe Palmer, according to Necole Bitchie.

Production will begin in Atlanta, where it all began for TLC, next month.

T-Boz and Chilli expressed concerns about having big names play them in a movie and preferring virtual unknowns to play the role; however, when it comes down to it, you need names that at least a few people know to create some interest in the movie.  Besides, all three of these actresses are on three very different levels of success so we can’t imagine that they’re totally disappointed in the choices.

According to the press release, the film should be out in time to celebrate TLC’s 20th anniversary. Wow, time flies, doesn’t it?

Will you be watching?

So it’s finally gonna get done, good. TLC was the 90’s IMO. I’d like to know a little bit of extra stuff especially about their romantic relationships.

Im all for Keke Palmer and Lil Mama but Drew Sedora? Ummm….isn’t she sort of much older than these two? And I saw her bit on The Game and was not impressed. Other than that I think its going to be good as long as Vh1 doesn’t Butcher it. And one more question. Why doesn’t BET do these black films? Its all owned by the same company anyway. Would it hurt for it to be shown on the black network?

  • LadyBlue

Imma watch this movie for sure

  • hahahahahaaaaa

I think that like mama can definitely play left eye…I love keke but it’s kinda hard to see her as chilli I see her more as tboz… drew sidora in the movie period makes me not wanna watch the movie I don’t think she’s that good of an actress

  • NeaJ

I didn’t hear about Drew Sidora playing T-Boz. Has she done anything besides The Game? I thought I read somewhere that she was a real singer but I’ve never heard any music that she’s done. This movie will be interesting if nothing else!!

    • SunshineBlossom

Yeah she’s allegedly signed to a music deal >.>… I still don’t think it will work, as her voice isn’t like T-Boz, much less look like her.

      • LadyBlue

her voice is like T-Boz and Keke can sing too

        • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

ive heard her sing. I would have to disagree about her sounding like T-boz

  • mac

Yeah the problem with casting well known people in biopics is that as hard as you try to see them as their character, you still see THEM. And it’s hard to get past. With few exceptions (i.e. movies Ray, Malcolm X, but probably because they’re exceptional actors).

Eh, not sure I trust this cast to pull it off, but hey we’ll see.

    • SunshineBlossom

That’s right, they become the characters to the point they look like them without needing all the craziness.

  • pickneychile

I’ll watch just out of curiosity. Keke is beautiful but she over acts. She just never seems natural to me.

    • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

I just said that in my comment above about her over acting sometimes. She was more natural in her Akeelah and the Bee days

I just don’t see it. AT ALL! Maybe with make-up and wigs, but I would rather them have gone with unknowns who looked more like TLC. I think people would want to see the movie more if the actors fit the part. Lil Mama……… smh

    • SunshineBlossom

      ^This all the way.

    • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

I actually think Lil Mama will do a decent job. She already can rap and can dance well. As well as Keke but at times she tends to over act. Mostly Drew Sedora Im worried about…

  • CoCo Lee

I can see KeKe…. Im still tryna Picture Drew Sidora tho…. hmmmmmmm

    • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

Me too. I cant see her rocking the short blonde tomboy hair cut

      • CoCo Lee

        Yea me either smh….

  • Cee

Y so critical? U not watch? And we wonder y blacks dont get work. Look at these comments.

  • Is It 5:00 Yet?

I’m kind of skeptical about VH1 being behind this film. Let’s not forget that Michael Jackson biopic they did with Flex………

    • NeaJ

Lmao! You ain’t neva lied! That was devastation to the nation. Smh!

      • Is It 5:00 Yet?

Lol! “Aw my nose!” It was more like a comedic parody than serious biography.

        • notagoodtime

Lol you guys are terrerible. Not terrible but terrerible.

          • Is It 5:00 Yet?

            Just keeping it real lol.

    • nolimit_soldier

They got sooooo much negative criticism for that movie..you notice they never reaired it..I was a kid when that movie was released I myself was offended that they got Flex alone to play him and lets not get into that movie as a whole..complete mockery and bufoonery on more level than many..actually beyond insulting and that was years and years before MJ actually passed away..I wonder how Flex feel about that movie now lol smh

      • Is It 5:00 Yet?

Yes..I couldn’t believe they actually went through with it. I’ll never forget that they put this cheap white powder on his face to show his skin lightening over the years. Smh.

        • IllyPhilly

I seen a piece of it when I think Centric re-aired it and was like what the sh!t is that.

          • Is It 5:00 Yet?

Just plain horrible. Everyone needed to be fired.

  • Kahekili

    Ehhhhh, this cast is iffy.

  • essence350

I’ll skip the movie. Their story is not interesting to me. And Left-eye was the most colorful and unique one of the group anyway.

  • stillJUICYbaby!

We watch everything else. oh can lil mama act???? I have never really seen her in anything

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1438551270 Jessica Lucinda Williams

I wish them all the best!!! And yes, I will be watching for it! Good luck ladies!!

  • AJ389

I don’t know how I feel. No disrespect to the 3 young ladies, they are talented, but my faith in ther upcoming performance is shakable and weak. TLC was comprised of 3 very unique individuals and its gonna be hard to portray them accurately on film. (If the script isn’t wack, that counts too). Good luck to them all though, I don’t wanna speak too soon but I have issues with the chosen. (Not personal) Later if they pull it off, I will come back and admit I was wrong. I don’t have a problem with doing that, as a matter of fact, I hope I am wrong.

    • SunshineBlossom

That’s right lol, the script also serves purpose too. I personally would have like to see some unknown actors as well, as there are plenty of talented black actresses to choose from. Hollywood (and Tyler Perry) has a habit of recycling actors and it gets boring. Something new is needed from time to time.

    • shame on you

      I feel you on that…

  • Annette

I still think they should’ve chosen unknown people, but I’ll watch just ’cause it’s TLC.

    • 3880

….But it isn’t as if someone’s gonna die if you don’t watch. Surely the world isn’t based on your importance.

      • Chey

        chill

        • Annette

Really… I mean where did that even come from? I thought I was being pretty positive. Maybe they’re going through something.

          • mac

Some people go on the Internet looking for any opportunity for a snide comment. We call them trolls.

      • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

Im sorry, I just had to say…..stfu!

        • 3880

I’m sorry, but I just had to say……right back at you skank!

          • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

            Complete wackness. Boooooooo! Lol

    • shame on you

….KeKe,,,is the only one who i know???? Lil MAma where have she been i never heard of the other young lady…i wish them luck…..

      • LadyBlue

You never heard of Drew Sidora..yeah right..yo a hater

        • Dichu eba realy lub mehSteebie

Y is that a surprise? If they haven’t watched the first Step Up (the best one) or that one episode of The Game, no one would probably know her

        • nolimit_soldier

That comment alone just proves that people throw that word “hater” out like its a one hundred dollar bill..how you going to call that person a hater just bc they never heard of Drew Sidora? Its ALOT of ppl who don’t know who alot of small roled/unknown/not well known singers and actors are (and theres PLENTY out there) ..alot of people never heard of singer Jhene Aiko but that doesn’t make them a hater just bc they don’t know who she is…and if they don’t know educate..its that simple..you never know Drew Sidora could gain a new fan who could possibly spread the news of her work, whether one choose to get into her or not..point is stop using that word hater over every little thing it could make you look like a complete asz wipe sometimes

  • SunshineBlossom

Nope. I’ll give a pass for Keke (She does have talent), but them other ones will just not do it for me. There are just some things that can’t be touched, and it’s hard for anyone to really BECOME TLC, which is required in a biopic.
