All the single ladies on Valentine’s Day, Shonda Rhimes says chill, it’s not that bad.

A fan made the mistake and opened a can of whoop a** when she asked if the “Scandal” creator has any advice for single women moping on the commercial love day.

“Here is what I say to all the ladies who are alone on Valentines Day: please do not ever use these words ‘ladies who are alone on Valentine’s Day’ together in a sentence ever again. Ever. Again,” Shonda started.

See what else she had to say on EurWeb.com.

Oh, the irony… (re: you calling cheekee baby a little girl; yet, using “U” instead of “You,” as though you’re text messaging your teenaged girlfriends)

Go, Shonda!!! I agree with the others. It’s one, overhyped, sappy day. One day does not and should not dictate your relationship.

  • Teati

Im single and had 3 valentines. I got flowers, candy, concert tickets, poems, dinner rsvp’s lined up. Ladies take advantage of the single life. If I settled for only one of these guys Id have only one dinner rsvp lol. But seriously, enjoy every moment and turn what ppl try to make negative into a positive. Hope u all had (at least) a decent valentine’s day. Smooches

  • Ladydi82

I know they could have found a better pic than this one. in my opinion V-day is whatever you want it to be.

  • Natasha T

I have to agree, so many take this day too damn serious, especially when single people who have no significant other, it’s like the end of the world to them. I just treat this day like any other.

  • Sagittarius81

She’s right! Even though I’m married, I just never took this “holiday” too serious. Why show love to the people I love on one day when I can do it everyday.

  • Kahekili

I don’t know why, but every time Valentine’s day comes around, people start bashing women who are single and making it seem as if she has no right to live.

Good advice, but she needs to lose weight. That isn’t healthy. She has the money and should invest in a good personal trainer to get into shape and no I don’t mean skinny.

    • Natasha T

Um…what’s her weight have to do with this story? If she wants to lose the weight, it’ll be on her terms, why are you letting it bother you? SMH!

      • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

It isn’t bothering me. Can’t I make a comment in the COMMENT section? Are you a big girl yourself? When are we going to stop repping being “BBW’s” like that shyt is cute or worse yet even DESIRABLE to be?

        • SniptheSnipe

It has more to do with your completely non-sequitor comment. If it didn’t bother you, you wouldn’t say it, and you clearly did not have good intentions when you wrote that. Especially since you insult the other person about her looks when this article is about NOT being shallow. I can tell you’re the type of person quick to give unsolicited advice to the poor innocent bystander who will be too polite (unlike yourself) to say anything back. And no, I’m not fat.

This is what you sound like:

You- “So she said that even though she missed working, she was absolutely committed to staying with her baby and eventually home schooling her.”

          Friend-“Oh my gosh, really?”

You- “Yeah, I couldn’t believe it, but good for her trying to get away from these awful public schools. ”

Friend- “That’s fantastic! By the way, you really need to do something about your hair. I get that you’re trying to do natural swag, but seriously, it’s ridiculous.”

You- “What the heck!? What does that have to do with anything?”

Friend- “Hey, what are you getting so mad for? We were talking. Can’t I TALK when I’m talking to my friend? You didn’t actually think you were cute, did you?”

          • Drew Smith

You eff’d that dialogue up something serious. That was literally impossible to follow (while attempting to make sense). SMH. Gotta go…

            • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

              LOL for real though . . .

          • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

I didn’t “insult” anyone about their looks. Do you equate “big girl” with ugly? Never said that and never implied that. She NEEDS to lose weight and the tired big girl excuses of “I just don’t have the time or money to exercise and eat right” are not ones she can use. I can comment any freakin way I want to. Unless you OWN Madame Noire or work for them you don’t get to dictate how I can comment or whether what I write is pertinent to the story. Thank you!

        • Is It 5:00 Yet?

If you want to talk about weight, go to the health and fitness section of the website.

          • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

Do you own Madame Noire? This article is about Shonda Rhimes, I commented that she ought to lose weight. And she should.

          • Drew Smith

Is it 5:00 Yet?, knock it off. Shonda Rhimes is a 43-year-old, rich, African American woman, and has an appearance that is utterly offensive to the eyes. There’s no need for cheekee baby to go to the Health & Fitness section of the website, because that isn’t where the aesthetic assault occurred. Now, have an excellent day.

            • Is It 5:00 Yet?

I don’t have to knock nothing off. I have just as much freedom of speech as she does. That is my opinion. You have a nice day as well.

              • Drew Smith

It’s “anything.” You don’t have to knock anything off. On a different note, I now have a better understanding of the ilk of person you are.

                • Is It 5:00 Yet?

Thank you for the grammatical correction.

So now you have a better understanding of what class I’m in based off a couple of comments on a website? Wow, you really got me there.

                  • Drew Smith

You’re welcome, and you better believe it, respectively. Killers have been brought to justice with much less in the way of evidence. I’m sure you understand.

                    • Is It 5:00 Yet?

I understand that you are a judgemental snob. Good day and good writtens.

                    • Drew Smith

It’s “riddance.” Good day, and good riddance. You’re welcome.

    • IAJS

I agree, that picture is all I could pay attention to

      • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

        Finally some honesty. :)
