You Know How Viola Davis Snagged Her Hubby Julius? Prayer

Any time a single, christian woman laments that she’s tired of being single, the answer is always pray and wait on God to send the man he made just for you. Most times the women saying that don’t actually have any proof of that casual approach working, but when Viola Davis tells you prayer works when it comes to finding your mate in life, she knows what she’s talking about.

The star of the flick Beautiful Creatures, which opens in theaters tonight, recently told the NY Post that’s how she got together with her husband, Julius Tennon. Speaking on her marriage to the former college football player who she married in 2003 and adopted a daughter with last year, she said:

“I was the loneliest woman in the world, and someone said, ‘You should just pray for a husband.’ I said I wanted a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before . . . 3 1/2 weeks later I met my husband.”

Well if that’s not a successful happily ever after story I don’t know what is. Shout out to Viola and Julius on Valentine’s Day!

Do you all know anybody who had their prayers for a man answered that quickly?

Yep. Me. I prayed for him midway through my junior year or college and I met him that summer.

It works I believe it. What they don’t tell you is when it will work . .

…before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Is 65:24. Before they call out, I’ll answer. Before they’ve finished speaking, I’ll have heard. Msg

Keep praying and keep your eyes open. Don’t miss your blessing.

“a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before” I mean come on, how hard was that to find?

    • Jasmine

That’s what I was thinking! Most women don’t pray for a man who has kids already and has been married before – that could spell disaster! But good for her! She got what she wanted!

    • The point is that “prayer does work”!

I didn’t pray about it but I made a plan to put myself out there for 2013. And in the first week of February, I found someone great. Action is irreplaceable.

Dear God, please send me someone who will love me w/o condition. Someone who has a deep live for you, kids, sports, who loves to travel, has a great sense of humor, someone who is athletic, ambitious, hard working, knowledgeable, kind, and not bad to look at. The end.
    Thanks in advance

I join you in prayer and also thank God in advance for our blessing

Prayer truly does work when one gives their whole heart over to the Lord. Don’t make me take y’all to church now, but…”Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalms 37:4) “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:10) …those are just a few.

Meagan Good also prayed for a husband, and she ended up with DeVon Franklin!

God is awesome! These same scriptures were shared at our church’s revival earlier this week. The speaker was saying God has already made the provisions for your desires/needs to be met. Therefore, after making your request(s) known through prayer, the only thing we need to do is Psalms 37:4. His Word will not return void!!!
