Too Much Partying:Tracy Mourning Arrested in Miami After Driving Under The Influence

Well, this a bit disheartening but nobody is perfect.

Tracy Mourning, wife of former Miami Heat player Alonzo Mourning, was arrested on Friday morning driving under the influence in Miami.

According to The Huffington Post, Mourning was clocked going 28 miles over the speed limit in Coconut Grove while driving her Porsche.

When a police officer finally stopped her a few blocks down, she’d apparently been swerving and she ran a stop sign.

At that point, the officer says Mourning then put on her charms and asked in a nice voice, “What did I do officer,” followed by a wink and then saying, “Was going fast, wasn’t I?” Okay so even at almost 4am and knowing she was wrong, Tracy tried to use the “bat your eyes” trick to get out of any trouble.

But the officer wasn’t buying it. He said her eyes were bloodshot, she was slurring her speech and reeked of alcohol. After failing a roadside sobriety test and refusing to take a blood alcohol test, she was then arrested.

No word yet on what time she was released and when she’ll have to appear in court. Her hair still manages too look good, even in the booking photo.

The Mournings have become pillars of the community in Miami where they spend countless hours giving back.  Alonzo has been known for years to throw one of the best fundraising events in town with his “Zo’s Summer Groove.”  Along with that huge money maker, the couple often scouts for other ways they can get back.

Hopefully, Tracy can get this taken care of and be extremely careful when it comes to drinking and driving (how about just don’t do it).

Honestly, how many of you still get behind the wheel even though you know you’ve probably had one too many drinks? Do you still get in the car with someone who you know has had too much to drink and let them drive?

    • flyer27

why would he? he should that girl. out drunk that late outside home. some young star getting in that guts. doubt her friends will send her home drunk from an event. she on the prowl

  • Well we all have done it at some point or another…it ain’t like she robbed a bank or nothing

    • Justine

Yes, but it doesn’t mean its right. We have to learn from our mistakes and be more responsible. We are not going to be given too many more chances as Tracy has shown us. I hope she learns and grows from this experience. Next time, just hire a driver or call a family member or friend.

Drinking and driving and robbing a bank are both very serious crimes.

      • Negative….rob a bank, get 25yrs in the fed prison; drive drunk, get $2500 in fines and a nite in jail

        • Kahekili

I wasn’t talking about the punishment. If you drink and drive you could kill another person. That is serious. If you rob a bank, someone could be killed and/or emotionally scared for life. That is serious.

          • True, but I just feel the severity of the two are diff, which is why more people drive under the influence as opposed to robbing banks..the punishment alone should tell u how the law views the two

I used to follow her on Twitter. She is positive and seemed down to earth. But she never engages her followers. I hope the best for her. She does need to second guess her”amazing” friends. Friends hold each other accountable in all situations.

There needs to be even harsher punishments for drunk driving. A lot of people are still not getting the message. I agree that she should have had hired a personal driver if she was going be “clubbing” all night. There is no excuse for drinking and driving, period. Always carry “more than” enough money with you when going out to cover cab fair, even if you’re the designated driver, because the situation can always change. It’s just not worth getting behind the wheel if you feel any bit impaired. A few seconds/minutes of impaired driving could change your life forever.

Tracy, don’t drink and drive! I’m glad no one was hurt, the mornings are well known in the community for helping the poor, so she will receive (a slap on the wrist).

  • sabrina

GIRL WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!?! Drinking and driving is not cool, but sooooo many people still do it and don’t care. It’s so sad.

Sidenote: Besides her bloodshot eyes, she looks pretty in her mugshot lol

    • yeah she does..

    • Cinnamon71

She sort of looks a little like Halle Berry’s sister.

      • sabrina

Yep, I can def see that!

    • flyer27

Everyone knows that Alonzo is an outstanding citizen in the community my question is why was his wife out until the wee hours of the morning without her husband even if she did go out along you would think she would respect her husband and children enough too be home at a decent hour

He was just on TBN too! He shared very inspirational words.

  • Lovely323

    Where was Zo?

  • Nana21

She was arrested in Coral Gables, Miami. Them racists crakas followed her because she was black to put her name in the media.#racematters

    • XYZ123

Coral Gables and Miami are two different cities.

    • yea

shut up. her eyes are bloodshot in the pic and ur gonna bring up race.

    • Guest

Here we go again with the race card. She was driving under the influence, going 28miles over the speed limit, ran a stop sign and failed a sobriety test. Why shouldn’t they? If she wasn’t doing any of these then she wont be in that predicament.

God forbid she killed someone, would that be okay? And you pull the race card. She breaks the law and you cry foul on the Cops, Shame on you.

    • well she shouldn’t have given them a reason to send her to jail even if they followed her, the police did the right thing by getting her drunk a@@ off the road. Race is not the issue, she was drunk wasn’t she?

  • overit

I just don’t understand….she has MORE than enough money to hire someone to drive her around. Why risk your and others lives..SMDH..I’m over these people NOT being responsible!
