Either Mendeecees has some great lawyers or the truth has officially come out. Whichever it is, the end result remains that the Love & Hip-Hop reality star has been cleared of sex abuse charges he faced in court this week.
The trial for this case just began Wednesday, with the now-19-year-old alleged victim giving a chilling testimony of how Mendeecees reportedly coerced her into performing oral and other lewd acts back in 2009 when she was just 15. Today, he had a chance to take the stand and told the courtroom he never had a relationship with the teen, and it appears the judge believed him.
According to TMZ, Mendeecees was acquitted of all charges, with his attorney releasing a statement shortly after, saying:
“My client and his family are jubilant that these charges are now behind him … This is real drama, not TV.”
Yandy, who stood beside the father of her child in court today, raced to the Internet to boast about the victory, posting the pic above of her boyfriend and his oldest son with this caption:
“No matter how much they tried to rip you of your pride, defame your name, degrade you…you kept your faith in God and told me to keep my head up. So I did. Not Guilty! I say it again NOT GUILTY!!!!”
Of course this victory could indeed be short-lived, as sex abuse charges are only one of Mendeeces legal problems right now. He may be clear in New Jersey but New York is still ready to try him on drug trafficking charges. If convicted of trafficking the $2.5 million worth of drugs he is thought to have moved between 2005 and 2012, he could still face five years in prison. In other words, if I was Yandy I wouldn’t be so quick to talk about people defaming Mendeecees. It seems he’s done a pretty good job of that on his own.
Cliffview Pilot reports that when the verdict was read today, Mendeecees’ supporters erupted into an outburts of shouts and sobs and had to be escorted out of the room. Meanwhile the alleged victim’s grandmother and aunt walked out as the verdict was being read. When asked how she felt about the outcome of the trial, the grandmother told the sight:
“It’s in God hands. The truth will come out.”
