When news broke that Beyoncé invited former Destiny’s Child group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to perform with her at the 2013 Super Bowl, many were shocked, since most of us had pretty much given up on the dream of ever seeing DC3 reunited on one stage again. Since the amazing performance, Beyoncé announced that she would be going on a world tour, but many wondered what the show would mean for the other group members. While Michelle Williams seemed to be the target of negative comments and jokes, which implied that her presence on the halftime stage only confirmed that she has never quite measured up to her über talented group members, Kelly Rowland appears to have received more positive feedback.

It seems that shaking her tailfeather and laying down those smooth vocals on the Super Bowl stage has given Kelly’s image and music sales a slight boost. According to That Grape Juice, since the halftime show, the singer’s previously released singles “Kisses Down Low” and “Ice” have moved up on the iTunes R&B charts.

“Ice,” which went on sale back August of 2012, has secured it’s spot at #29 on the chart, which is kind of a big deal considering how long ago it was released. And Rowland’s most recent single, “Kisses Down Low,” which was produced by Mike Will Made It, has crept up to #27, one spot shy of Keyshia Cole’s recently released “Trust and Believe”.

This is great news for Kelly! We hope that her music keeps climbing up the charts and she continues to receive the recognition that she deserves and works so hard for. 2013 just may be her year.

What did you think of Kelly’s performance during the Super Bowl? Are you digging “Kisses Down Low” or “Ice”?

Kelly will do great things in 2013.

  • Nope

I still can’t believe that she has a greatest hits album. Just sayin…

  • LaLa

I LOOOVE Kelly, and no not all her songs are about sex only someone who hasnt listened to her music would say that her last album was AMAZING i still have it on repeat! Her latest songs are about sex but sex sells and theyre great songs shes always been my favorite! GO KELLY

  • Lola

Kelly’s body was banging!!! She outshined Beyonce when she popped up out of that stage.

  • lola

Ok so she’s winning but nobody mentioned Bey’s name here while praising her winning BUT if she was ‘losing’ it’ll be on Bey bcs she’s this, she’s that. These girls are almost like sisters it really amazes me how people assume that Bey would be responsible of Kelly’s once failing career. If Bey didn’t want to involve them and give them exposure and share her half time which she didn’t have to Kelly wouldn’t be winning today. So while you’re out celebrating her winning think about what you would have said if she wasn’t ‘winning’ just had to point that out.
By any means Kelly has always been my fave DC i have always found her the prettiest and her body is always on point so good for her

  • Meyaka

No to neither of these songs, but I want Kelly to win as well so she can bring the “simply deep” r&bness back.

    • Kenedy

Me neither, don’t like any of her new material, but she has a beautiful voice & i want to see her be successful

Kelly did what I’d hoped all of them would do. Hold her own. She got her own attention during someone else’s huge performance. Good for her for bringing her A-game.

I’ve always been rooting for Kelly. I love her. I just wish she would change her choice of songs up. Her singles are always about sex. Like she’s the female Trey Songz, & Trey Songz sex music got old after while. She needs to hit up the Dream or Ne-Yo, they make hits & she will really blow up

  • d

I love Kelly! she was always my favorite

  • TRUTH IS

Yay Kelly!! Am rooting for the under dog.

  • trisha30

I loved Kelly’s performance. My girl came out there and did the damn thing. Momma done got thicker, and them breast done gave he a lil more confidnce and was slanging that hair like it wasnt nothing. She wasnt but to let Beyonce outshine her this go round, poor Michelle looked like she was lost and confused bofl.

  • Kapricornkitti

Kellz has got it going on!!! She and Bey did the dang thang at the super bowl…chemistry hasn’t slipped a bit!!! Kellz shook those hips, threw that hair and sang like she and Bey had never parted… LOVE KELLY!!! Michelle seemed confused, almost like they had practiced without her…LOL

I wish nothing but the best for all those sisters, but honestly it looked like Michelle couldn’t move in those shoes. We all know the girl can dance. We’ve seen her dance repeatedly. And although Michelle has still been working it’s been on the broadway stage which I’m sure doesn’t call for those bootylicious moves. I’m going to say blame it on the shoes. :)

totally agree. I think she looked extra skinny compared to bey and kelly. But I have always thought she was the perfect background chick for them..

  • msgeegee
