I Didn’t Come Here To Work! A Day In The Life Of An Internet Troll

February 6, 2013  |

You know one when you see one, better yet when you read a comment from one. They’re lurking on websites everywhere across the globe — faceless, nameless, without a trace of contact info  — to snap on the first person saying something sensible to throw off the whole flow of the comments section on your favorite site every time a new story pops up in their RSS Feed and a Google Alert comes in. Who are we talking about? Internet trolls. And this is a day in the life of one.

  • Trolling on a river

    *evil grin*

The definition of an internet troll is often misused. One needs to understand the difference between someone who says things to rile people up and someone who has a strong opposing opinion.

If these ‘trolls’ are anonymous, how has MN come to the consensus that this is done from work?

You are so right about some of the MN trolls. Sometimes I’ll be looking at some of the comments and I just wonder why? They just be jumping on people for no apparent reason, it’s so crazy.

LOL this is sooo hilarious and sooo true!!! you can voice your true opinion when you’re anonymous.lol

ROFL @ the “i’m a doctor” i got a big huge THUMBS DOWN when i was on clutchmag when i commented on an article about there being a low number of professional black women. i said ” hell, all you gotta do is look at the comments and you’ll see that damn near every woman who comments is like “i have my masters degree and i’m a strong black woman, but i don’t like cats”

they feel the need to mention that they supposedly have this and that degree on the most random topics!

    • i thought I was the only one who felt like that. @ the degree thing.
