That Ish Cray: Kanye West Does Abu Dhabi Concert In A Mask And Strait Jacket

February 1, 2013  |

In case you were craving a dose of crazy to help you to get through the rest of this lovely Friday afternoon, we have something just for you. It seems that Kanye West was seeking to tap into his inner madman last night during his concert in Abu Dhabi. The Chicago native strolled onto the stage wearing a white strait jacket and a white mask, reports Necole Bitchie.

A fan actually captured the footage of Kanye walking onto the stage. One concert attendee can actually be heard over the screaming in the background saying, “This N-word is insane.” After making his way to the stage, Kanye positioned himself in front of the microphone and goes straight into “Say You Will”, which is a track from his 2008 808s & Heartbreak album.

Towards the end of the song, Kanye goes off on some sort of a tangent expressing that the song is dedicated to an ex-girlfriend whom he gave a call during one of his one-night stays in New York City. He proceeded to recount the conversation between him and his ex, which led to plans of meeting up for a potential booty call; however, she stands him up. Concertgoers can at this point be heard in the background laughing and asking one another “Is he high?”

Kanye West is not just an artist, he’s a performer. The image that appeared in my mind while he verbally painted that portrait of him angrily waiting in a New York hotel room as his ex-girlfriend stands him up is absolutely hilarious to me. But, catch this, after his spiel he went right into his Heartless track. I’m not really sure what that strait jacket had to do with the actual songs he performed, but those tracks, with the ex-girlfriend spiel and the creepy looking costume made for an interesting thirteen minutes and fifty-four seconds of entertainment.

Check the next page to see Kanye’s dramatic performance. What do you think of it? Is he a total creeper?
