It’s no secret Miami rapper Rick Ross has been having a tough couple of months. After cancelling a North Carolina show in December due to gang threats, just this morning the rapper  was leaving a Florida nightclub after celebrating his birthday when an attempted drive-by took place.

Fort Lauderdale Police confirmed to The Huffington Post that William Roberts, Ross’s real name, was a passenger in a Rolls Royce that crashed into an apartment building off busy Los Olas Avenue around 5 a.m. after “dozens” of shots were reportedly fired at the vehicle. No one was injured.

NBC6 reports the shots came from another vehicle, but no arrests have been made.

The restaurant where Rozay had celebrated his b-day earlier in the night was also struck in the hail of gunfire. If Rick Ross didn’t have a team of security before, he’s about to now.

At the end of the day, whether he lies in his raps or not, he is still a human being and this is getting out of hand! I hope he hires better security, because I’m sick of people acting like your life shouldn’t be valued! I don’t want another Biggie/Tupac/JMJ/Big L situation to ever happen again!

God wasn’t playing when he said humble yourself. This a sign from God in my opinion. He has to start making drastic changes. It’s the 21st century and we’re having another rapper shooting? Repent immediately! He probably won’t though the money is just to good

    • Ravens

Is that the kind of god you have, one who uses violence to make a point? Innocent people could have been killed by the gunfire. What kind of god would sacrifice the lives of innocent people just to send a ‘sign’ to ‘Rick Ross’?

i don’t think they meant God did this. we make our own evil on this earth, you think any of those guys had God on their minds when they were aiming guns at another human being because they felt “disrespected”? i doubt it.

        • Michiko

Whether or not those guys had ‘God’ on their minds is irrelevant and was not even a point I made. I was trying to understand how one could think a drive-by shooting is a ‘sign from God’.

Just like the bible speaks of “wars and rumors of wars, the love of many growing cold, earthquakes in various places, rampant ungodliness, false prophets, etc” as being a sign of the end times. i would say that a drive by shooting is an example of peoples love growing cold towards one another. no respect for human life.

Thank You that was my point. We don’t know what he did in his past or the people he’s hurt. Karma is real. I think that was a warning from God to Rick Ross about his life and what changes he has to make.

      • bluekissess

Somebody has to made an example of. Have you heard of karma? That’s the moral of my story. We. Don’t know his past or the people he’s hurt.

        • Michiko

Of course I have heard of ‘karma’, but that doesn’t mean I believe in it. Essentially, you are saying that what goes around comes around and that this ‘God’ character used a drive-by shooting that could have injured or killed innocent people as a way to enforce that rule.

          • bluekissess

Oh boy, I’m sure you’ve also heard God works in mysterious ways? You’ve probably heard that too but don’t want to believe it. In my opinion I think God was sending a warning. Thank Goodness he didn’t get hurt. That incident should be a wake up call. Some things need to change in his life so this won’t happen. I’ve explained my opinion the best way I could. I wish I can give you sign language unfortunately, technology hasn’t reached that point. I’m just gonna leave this one alone.

            • Michiko

Yes, I have heard that too. And, it’s not that I don’t want to believe that, because wanting would indicate a desire. Saying that ‘God works in mysterious ways’ is a way for you to not actually have to think about things. To say that a drive-by shooting was a warning/sign from ‘God’ is the most irrational thing one could say. You are okay with the potential lives of innocent people being lost so that ‘God’ can send one person a ‘sign’/’warning’.

              • bluekissess

                God Bless!

                • Michiko

Of course that would be your response.

                  • bluekissess

                    Of course.

  • Ravens

    Not surprised.

      • bluekissess

She should kick rocks with an open toed shoe. She cray cray

  • IllyPhilly

Wait, these rappers who say they’re no pu$$ies are not gangsters?

    • bluekissess

Absolutely not. That’s what sells records and sold out shows.

    • Trisha_B

So what was he suppose to do, hop out the car & shoot back? smh. He’s smart for canceling that show & smart for swerving from the gun shots. Why encourage it & put many others in danger by going somewhere your being threatened, or shoot back? People really need to get their life

      • IllyPhilly

Why rap about being gangsters, gun, and all the violence then?

No thanks
