Hey There Sugar Mama! 15 Women Who Bring Home (Almost) All The Bacon

January 30, 2013 ‐ By Meghan Williams

Gone are the days when a man provided all of the financial support for his wife and children. Now, studies are showing that increasing numbers of us women are actually earning more (sometimes way more) than our boyfriends and husbands. And like all shifting societal norms, Hollywood is keeping right up with the trend. So, viva la sugar mama!

With a net worth of $2.7 billion, Oprah would be hard pressed to find a man that she wouldn’t be a sugar mama to. So why stress about it? Oprah has been happily partnered with Stedman Graham since 1986 and neither of the two seems to be complaining. Plus he’s still got his own ends — maybe not $2.7 billion worth — but he’s not hurting.

This whole website is negative. Writers should be ashamed. Women who write for this are just so bitter. Always putting celeberities down, I hope women realize to stay away from this site. !

This is a very stupid article……you guys should feel terrible

Why are women consistently given degrading names everything from baby’s momma, cougar, and sugar mama what names are men given? If an older man is with a younger woman he is not called degrading names he is considered a playboy very rarely have I heard older men with younger women referred to as sugar daddy’s based on their money in any case if a woman has more money than the man in her life so be it. People fall in love and many of these couples seem to be in love so who cares who brings home the bacon the point is its about them. This article missed its mark.

  • The title of the article was wrong. hey ar not sugar mpmmas’s because. Stedman works and so does Mariahhusband work. They are both sucessful men in their own right jus because the man isn’t making as much money as the woman so what? They are not living off of them.

    • Right, especially about Mariah and Nick. Nick has been working since he was dang near a kid, and was a star in his own right. I mean the boy was not only acting, but producing. That is no small feat, especiallly since he was such a young age when doing those things. It’s so funny how people are so quick to call a woman a sugar mama, when she is with a man who makes less; but call women golddiggers when they get with men with more money. Not to mention, men have been doing this, since the beginning of the time; and there is rarely a backlash or an attempt to publicly humiliate them. I’m talking about the ones who are: blatanly sugar daddies, who take care of sugar babies, the men who marry women who they know they wouldn’t get without money, and lastly the men who don’t do either of the above and just happen to fall in love and marry a woman who makes less. There are a few who make comments, but not always a huge attempt to publicly shame them. Russell Simmons, Donald Trump, George Clooney, and countless others are smart businessmen; who can have access to whoever. Mariah, Phaedra, Oprah, and many others are smart enough to have a career in which they make good money; BUT they are dumb, desperate women who have to pay men to be with them. They are dating down. It’s not ok to have a partner making less than them. Where is the logic in that?

This article rubbed me the wrong way. Why are they sugar mamas? I thought that was the person who knows they’re strictly being used for money. Some of these people actually seem in love. Why can’t a woman just have bread with her man without it being implied that she takes care of him?

  • Its 2013 where are the sistas on here complaining that these men should be bringing equal if not more to the table and these women should not be tolerating this?!?! lol
