You Ain’t Seen Swollen ‘Til You’ve Seen Serena: Williams Posts Pic Of Her Massive Ankle Injury Via Twitter
And to think I’m out here complaining about ingrown toenails when Serena Williams has a foot that is swollen to the size of a cantaloupe. Yikes!
After losing a hard fought battle against 19-year-old tennis ace Sloane Stephens this week, Serena Williams was very vocal about the injuries that racked her during the Australian Open. “‘I’ve had a tough two weeks between the ankle … and my back, which started hurting. A lot of stuff. I’m almost relieved that it’s over. I’ve been thrown a lot of (curve) balls these two weeks.”
And she wasn’t kidding, especially with this ankle that damn sure looks like a curved ball. Williams has been playing nonstop during the Open, and it’s clearly taking a toll on her body. The tennis star used her Twitter account to show off her puffed up foot and featured it with the caption, “Ouch.” Ouch was definitely right. Her severely swollen ankle seems to take up most of the picture, and it’s clear that she definitely needs to give herself a break and let that foot heal properly. I’m sure she has no choice but to sit down for a bit, because can you even walk with a foot busted like that? Have you ever had a foot as swollen as this?
Here’s to hoping it will heal fast, because this picture is hurting me and it’s not even my foot…
