Every now and then, sometimes you want to break from your mundane 9-5 to pursue a side passion in a different career.  Some people become painters, create crafts, write novels, all while maintaining their current professions and celebrities are no different.  We’ve done this post a few years back, now let’s add to it.  Here’s how these celebrities get their hustle on once they’ve stepped out of the camera’s view.

Daniel Day-Lewis – Carpenter

The Oscar winning actor, who has appeared in such blockbusters like Kings of New York, There Will be Blood, and Lincoln has a passion of using his hands and carpentry.  When’s he’s not appearing in great movies, or accepting awards for his roles, he’s off cobbling shoes and building things.  He has been hired to build the sets of the movie The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

Chris Brown has been on the music scene since his teens, and after appearing in number of videos, he has gotten behind the lense to direct them as well.  Actually, he’s been co-directing a few of his own videos since his debut album, and has gone on to direct others in the business including Wale’s “Slight Work,”  and U.G.L.Y.’s “Red.”

The up and coming singer Lana Del Rey has been babysitting for a particular family for years, and even though she has became a star, she still babysits the ten year old boy twice a week.

The ever evolving entertainer Madonna has penned several children books.  Not only does she write these books, but apparently she’s really great at it.  Her books gain positive reviews constantly and they encourage children to make smart decisions.  A nice change from the Material Girl, huh?

Dennis Hopper – Painter, Photographer and Poet

Before the acclaimed actor’s death, Dennis Hopper was a very sought after photographer and painter.  Before he got into acting, he would take pictures of his famous friends.  He has photographed:  Bill Cosby, Ike and Tina Turner, and Andy Warhol (just to name a few).  His paintings fell in the realm of abstract impressionist to photo-realism  and usually had cinematic themes to them.  His art exhibits have been in museums around the world.
