The actress was born Maria Halle Berry, her parents chose her middle name (which became her stage name) as a tribute to local Cleveland, Ohio, landmark, Halle’s Department Store. ALSO, on an interesting side note, Halle Berry used to date New Kids On The Block member Danny Wood. They broke up because the band gave him heat about messing with her because they thought that she was nothing but a groupie.
