You Better Check That ‘Tude If You Want A Paycheck! Celebs Who Got Fired for Their Attitudes
Life at a 9 to 5 can be rough. When the boss is on you and your co-workers stay on some mess, it’s hard to hold your tongue. And apparently, your job can be tough even if you’re living the dream and getting paid six or more figures. The next time you think about poppin’ off at the mouth, remember what happened to these celebrities who couldn’t hold their tongues.
Word on the street is that Stacey’s diva mentality is the reason she hasn’t been on screen in a hot minute. In early March 2012, there were rumors that Stacey was fired from the movie Supremacy for disrespecting producers and replaced by Lela Rochon. Later that same month, In Touch Weekly reported that Stacey was asked not to return for Season 2 of Single Ladies, despite high ratings, because she “feuded with the cast, canceled promos and caused entirely too much drama.”
Megan Fox found out that her star power wasn’t as strong as she thought it was when she fell out with her boss Michael Bay. She didn’t like the way he directed her, so she compared him to Hitler. Not only did Michael Bay relieve her of her multi-million dollar movie contract, Megan Fox never really had a big Hollywood role again.
You may remember Eddie from his role as young John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgement Day or as Danny Vinyard in American History X. But recently, Edward Furlong hasn’t been acting in anything at all. He was fired from the set of the movie Misled and from the set of the movie Other Plans, not for his attitude toward his director but for his attitude toward his girlfriend. He’s been arrested multiple times for beating her up and his directors had enough.
Lupe Fiasco was fired from his recent performance at Hamilton Live in D.C. for criticizing President Obama on stage. The performance was to be in celebration of Obama’s reelection, but between songs, Lupe said that he didn’t vote for President Obama and continued to discuss his views for 30 minutes before he was asked to leave the stage and the show.
Lisa Bonet got fired twice by Bill Cosby for her liberal attitudes toward sex. First Bill supposedly fired her from The Cosby Show when he found out that she’d posed for nude photos. A few years later he gave her another chance and invited her on the cast of It’s A Different World and then fired her again for getting pregnant by Lenny Kravitz.
After his star performance in Hustle and Flow, John Favreau, director of Iron Man 2 thought that Terrence would be perfect for the movie. But apparently, Terrence’s success went to his head. The diva demanded more money for his performance shortly after he signed on. Unfortunately for Terrence, Favreau thought that even what he was getting was too much and replaced him with another black actor (Don Cheadle).
Diddy fired your girl from Dannity Kane on set for being too big for her britches. There’s only room for one diva in Diddy’s house and he holds the crown. So Diddy gave Aubrey her walking papers while she was on the show and told her to humble herself.
Outside of Diddy’s house, being a diva on the job can make you a hit reality tv star. But there is a such thing as taking it too far. When Sheree Whitfield took her ‘tude off camera and demanded more money from Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s producers after the show’s fourth season, the producers copped an attitude right back and fired Sheree.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Chad is the second actor on our list fired for his attitude towards women. After Chad head-butted Evelyn Lozada, Chad Ochocinco got fired on several fronts. The Miami Dolphins didn’t even wait 24 hours to give him his pink slip. Shortly after that, his VH1 reality show Ev and Ocho was promptly cancelled and even his endorsement for Zico coconut water gave him the boot.
Back in 2008, Young Buck was a member of G-Unit, but he just couldn’t get along with HNIC 50 Cent. When Young Buck went to the press saying he was robbed of his royalties from his last two albums, it was one of the last straws to break the camel’s back. Not only did Fiddy fire Young Buck, he released a tape of Young Buck crying for his job back.
Holly Robinson Peete
The Talk never officially released a reason as to why they fired Holly Robinson Peete. But Leah Remini, who was fired at the same time as Holly, has an idea. She says they got told to kick rocks because Sharon Osbourne didn’t like their attitude and on-camera presence and called them “ghetto”.
The official story is that Kim Zolciak quit The Real Housewives of Atlanta. But when your stank, standoffish attitude and racist remarks back you into an unemployable corner, it’s kind of like you got fired — even if you quit right before producers have a chance to hand you your walking papers.
Star Jones is another celebrity who couldn’t manage to get along with their co-workers. She and TV veteran Barbara Walters had so much beef it couldn’t even be contained to the set. Unfortunately for Star, her star power didn’t shine as bright as Barbara’s and producers decided to give Star the boot from The View and keep Barbara Walters.
Charlie Sheen acted a fool before and after he was fired from Two and a Half Men. But his coke problems, street worker addiction and manic behavior weren’t technically what got him fired from the show. It was his attitude toward his director Chuck Lorre and the narsty letter he wrote him right before he was let go.
