Why Didn’t He Call? How To Handle Rejection

One of the most common dating problems women face is wondering why he didn’t call. You know, that great guy you had so much fun with and never heard from again? Men mysteriously disappear, and dating rejection can be jarring and feel really crummy.

Julie, one of my clients, faced this challenge. She connected with Bruce through a dating site. They exchanged emails and spoke on the phone. They met for coffee and chatted up a storm for over two hours. She told me it was obvious that Bruce was interested in her.

At the end of the date, Bruce asked Julie for a second date. The next week, they went skating. She said he was a total gentleman and that they both had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, at the end of the date, instead of asking her out again or even saying he would call her, Bruce suggested she call him “sometime” because “it would be fun to talk.”

This article is for Overweight women who don’t look good naked.

  • Nope

The best advise is: Get over yourself. Men can exercise they options and pick who they want, or don’t want, just as women do.

    • Please share that with the men who go so far as to curse at a woman and call her out her name all because she won’t stop and “holla” at him.

      • Nope

I agree, that behavior by men is immature and cowardly. But women are so terrified of rejection that most won’t even place themselves in a position for it to even occur.

        • That my dear is because MOST women do not have to. There are plenty of men hollering at her all day every day.

          • Nope

Women are AFRAID to, even if THEY are the one interested in a specific man. Women get ‘hollered’ at, but rarely open their mouths or initiate engagement with the ones they are actually interest in.

            • How do you know that? Trust me women ‘approach’ men all the time just in a different manner. she may not be trying to blatantly get his number but she might smile, make eye contact and compliment his watch or find another reason to strike up a conversation. That’s how a lady approaches a man, in a classy and feminine way.

              • C’mon son

“That’s how a lady approaches a man, in a classy and feminine way.” This. Right. Here. I don’t know what brazen way some men expect a woman to approach them, but a friendly smile and a “good morning” can spark a conversation and interest like a forest fire. That’s certainly not fear; it’s class.

                • precisely. All this noise about women fearing rejection which is why they don’t approach men is hogwash. She simply does her approaching in a different way. Besides, this article is CLEARLY addressing after they’ve both expressed mutual interest in each other. We are talking about women feeling confused, sad, and yes maybe a little insecure on why a man they liked and who APPEARED to have an interest in her fell off the map.
