Is The New Destiny’s Child Song Set To Blow? ‘Nuclear’ Hits The Internet

January 13, 2013  |

Before we go any further, let’s be honest: All of these wheels are starting to turn because “Bey season” is rapidly approaching. Can we agree on that?

Last Thursday, we told you that a compilation Destiny’s Child album will be released on January 29th featuring past DC love songs between 1997-2004 and a song that was never featured on any album.  It didn’t take long for the record label to let the world hear that new track.

“Nuclear” was released on the Destiny’s Child Vevo site (on YouTube) Friday and the internet was immediately buzzing. The song was co-written by James Fauntleroy, Lonny Bereal and DC member Michelle, produced by Pharrell Williams and Beyonce and Kelly are on the main vocals.

If you are a Destiny’s Child fan and were expecting another hard hitting, uptempo song from the trio, you might feel a little slighted with this one. “Nuclear” is a very low-key track that sounds like it could have been written back in the 90s.  It has more of a sit down, close your eyes and vibe type of song – there’s no “big” moment in the song.  If that’s more your speed, you’ll love it.

The word on the Super Bowl streets is that Destiny’s Child will reunite during Beyonce’s halftime performance with Bey debuting her new solo single. Should be exciting!

Check out the song below. What do you think?

Is it just me, but it seems when Kelly is on the scene with some hot singles and videos either Destiny’s Child ahs a moment or Beyonce does something really big. I could be reading too much into it but I’m quite certain that DC was saying its a wrap, you’re probably not going to hear us together again as a group but lo and behold…..any who.

It’s ok to me. It has like a 90’s vibe to it, definitely loungin music. For all we know though, Bey could be putting out this mediocre song with when her new music comes out, it’ll seem all that better! Just saying..I don’t put a good publicity stunt pass any of these superstars.

uh oh, beyonce needed something to bring herself back into the forefront. 2011- now has been kelly’s time, b. Stop trying to steal her shine.

I may be the only one that doesn’t mind it.

This song is straight up trash!

Not feeling the song at all. I would think after all this time, they would come harder than that. Used to love DC.

I don’t like the song idk if they are singing to slow for the Beat but it doesn’t match.
