Is THAT Why They Were Fighting?! Kevin Garnett Allegedly Told Melo LaLa Tastes Like Honey Nut Cheerios

January 8, 2013  |

If you watched the Celtics vs Knicks game last night, you might have seen things get a little heated between Celtic forward, Kevin Garnett and New York Knick Carmelo Anthony after Anthony fouled Garnett.

But it wasn’t the foul that led to the feud. It was Kevin Garnett’s trash-talking, which he is notoriously known for. If you missed last night’s game, you can see that as he takes his seat on the bench after his fifth foul, Melo says a few choice words to Garnett.

Take a look.

Did you catch that? If not, you’ll have to watch again because we can’t type out the fact that Melo spat, “Fawk you [vajayjay]” in K.G.’s direction. Both men got technicals.

Alright, so no big deal. A lot of stuff gets said in the heat of game time. But last night, it didn’t end there. After the Knicks lost (96 to 102), the two teams had showered and Melo was dressed, he went to meet Garnett outside, next to Boston’s bus. Fortunately, nothing went down there, considering there was a gang of security holding Melo in check.

Hmm…so what could have been said to make Melo so mad, especially since he was the one who initially fouled Garnett.

Well, the answer might be trending on Twitter right now.

Allegedly, during the game Kevin Garnett told Carmelo Anthony that his wife, LaLa, tastes like honey nut cheerios.

Ooooo Jesus!

Now, there’s no confirmation of this but judging by Carmelo’s strong reaction and the fact that Garnett is known for starting mess, I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t far from the truth. And if it is true, Garnett took it way too far. I understand spouting a certain amount of foolishness to get into your opponent’s head; but talking about a player’s wife, who is in attendance, is just too low down. How was Carmelo supposed to respond to that, whether it was true or not?!

So that’s the story we’re hearing.

Do you think K.G. said that? How should Carmelo have handled that situation?

    still don’t get it

There is a season and reason for everything. There is also a season to get your teeth knocked out and for KG, this was one of those times.
In fact I’m pissy at Duncan and Villanueva for not doing their jobs. All KG needs is one good butt whooping for coming out out of pocket, and he’ll think twice before doing it again.

  • Mello you have
nothing to worry about, LaLa would NOT entertain Garnett in neither her
    nightmare nor her dreams! JS

I would not be surprised. People sleep around all the time. I am sure it is happening around the league.

Hilarious to me. Honey Nut Cheerios taste like dirty bagels. But I have bills to pay so let me mind my business.

The comments on here would be totally different if it were a woman who told another woman what her husband’s s*x organ tasted like.

I use to like KG b/c he reminds me of the old NBA when players were not cry
babies and softies but he keeps crossing the line with his trash talk. First
with Charlie V….calling him a cancer telling a man how his wife tastes!?? BOOM..Line completely crossed! Time for a beat down!

Of all things…why honey nut cheerios?? That’s the best he could come up with??

    • Nisa

      I know. That’s hella weird.

  • JustSayin

Totally out of line on Garnett’s part.

You think that’s bad? Supposedly he told Tim Duncan “Happy mother’s day mf’er” on the anniversary of his mom’s death from cancer.

The guy is all bark and no bite, and notoriously classless.

Hard it was, I just wish Melo had ignored him. People like Garnett thrive on reactions.

    • It wasn’t the anniversary it was Mother’s Day in the playoffs but yea he’s a dbag

  • Stanley Dada

I KG said that, I can understand Melo. I wouldn’t have the same reaction though.

  • applesauce585

KG may have said that just to get into Carmelo Anthony’s head… worked, lol.

  • Britt

I bellieve KG said that or something along those lines. He’s known for instiagting stuff and a lot of what he says and does in the NBA wouldn’t fly in street ball. Based on Melo’s reaction, KG had to have said something personal. Melo’s been in the league 10 years and he’s said and heard his fair share of trash talk, but talking about another man’s wife to his face, especially, can get you in trouble.

I believe he did say something to that effect it b/c he called Charlie V of the Detroit Pistons a cancer patient b/c he has alopecia and doesn’t have eyebrows. I’ve never seen Melo that worked up. He seems like a very chilled dude so I figured it had to be something pretty bad to set him off like that..then he goes and waits for KG at his bus! SMH.

you never seen him that worked up? didnt you when he beat jared jeffries and ran of the court LOl
