When a man acts out a romantic gesture, he has made the choice to show his soft side, and potentially make a fool of himself all in the name of validating his love for you. But that is the point: he makes a choice to do it then and there. For the most part, men like to choose when and how the happenings in their relationships go on display, which is why these romantic gestures can feel more like an ambush than a pleasant surprise.

I don’t think showing up at his job is that serious up on the list. It depends on 1. how serious you two are, and 2. what kind of job he has, which if 1. is very serious, then you already know the lay-out.
