The New Jersey native, who also happens to be a twin, was having a financially difficult time while trying to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. When the bills started piling up she decided to moonlight as a dancer. As she explained on Anderson Cooper Live:
“Back in the day I used to be a [ex0tic] dancer. Way back in the day! … Back in the day I was doing stand-up comedy, I was broke, okay! To help pay for my comedy… I would go to stripping to help support my stand-up comedy on the side. [I would combine the two] because I wouldn’t want to get [bare bodied] and how I would get out of that would be by telling jokes.”

Catherine Zeta Jones
When this very talented actress was struggling to be discovered, it is alleged that she was an exotic dancer so she could afford rhinoplasty. After getting an alleged nose job, she dropped alleged dancer job and became known as the Hollywood starlet we know her as today.
When the movie Juno first came out, the success it had was a surprise to viewers and movie critics alike. But what was even more of a surprise was that the Academy Award winning movie was written by a former stripper. The very talented writer, Diablo Cody spent a year stripping in a joint in Minnesota. She wrote a memoir about her exploits, and then began working on the screenplay for Juno. Now, she is a very sought after screenwriter with titles like Jennifer’s Body, Young Adult, and creating the series “The United States of Tara” all under her belt.
Before lighting up the silver screen, the Spainish born actor decided to try his luck on a stripper pole. Years before winning the Academy Award for his role in No Country for Old Men, he went to an open stage night at a male strip club and performed in front of a crowd of women that also contained his mother and sister. He lists that incident as a very uncomfortable one from his life. I don’t blame him.
As you can tell, men sometimes like to take it off, and this was the case with Marcus Patrick. Marcus sort of goes against this list, seeing that he indulged in stripping in the middle of his television career. He had roles in “My Wife and Kids,” “CSI,” “Passions,” “All My Children,” and “Days of Our Lives” when he decided to do a spread for Playgirl, which featured him in his full frontal glory. After he was released from “Days,” with the speculation of his involvement with showing off his full monty. pictures of him performing a strip tease with dollars around him were released.
La Toya Jackson
While La Toya was in her abusive marriage with Jack Gordon, she did a few things that she regretted, which was appear in Playboy and perform in a strip show in the Live Exotic Club Tour. During a performance were she refused to remove her clothes, a small riot broke out.
Dita Von Teese
The burlesque dancer started her career in the art of seduction in a gentleman’s club. To set herself apart from the other dancers she wore a beehive hairstyle, this caught attention and led her to fetish and glamour modeling. She then parlayed that into a successful burlesque career.
Considered “one of the most controversial woman in rock” by Rolling Stone, Courtney Love has had her ups and downs. Before becoming a musician and marrying Nirvana’s front man Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love made a career as an exotic dancer.
Anna Nicole Smith
Anna Nicole (rest in peace) was struggling to find a way into America’s heart. After working in places like Walmart and Red Lobster, Anna Nicole decided that a better way to provide for her son as a newly divorced mother would be as a stripper. During her career she met her millionaire husband, Howard Marshall, and then saw an ad that requested models for Playboy. She went, and was known as a modern day Marilyn Monroe before her death.
