It Wasn’t All Bad: LHH’s Tahiry Jose Says Her Relationship With Joe Budden Made Her Career
Due to rapper Joe Budden’s obsession with publicly sharing videos that depict he and his ex-girlfriend Tahiry Jose candidly sorting out their relationship woes, many of us are already acquainted with the video model and Love and Hip Hop newbie. In a recent interview with VH1, the video vixen opened up about how her relationship with Joe Budden exposed her to the world of modeling.
On Joe’s videos:
“The videos were really raw and uncut. We didn’t know how to edit so they got to see the real relationship. Me and my ex-boyfriend show them what really happens at home. At the time I don’t really think any relationship in the music industry had allowed people to see what really goes on in a house without any editing. They got to see if I was angry, if I was happy, if he clowned around. They really just got to see the true essence of a couple. The world was really interested in Joe Budden and Tahiry. I didn’t get it because we were just two kids in love just doing what we did. But, from then on, people wanted more.”
On how the videos prompted her modeling career:
“From the first clip, radio stations began asking who I was and that bought me into magazines. So one day I get this phone call about a shoot for King Magazine. I automatically got nervous. I wasn’t ready. I hadn’t been in the gym for a couple of years. I was ready to have kids and just get married. And then I thought, before I get older, before they start sagging and I start to gain weight and have some babies, ‘I might as well go ahead and do this.’ So I take the shoot and go ahead and do the spread, two weeks later we get a phone call and they say ‘Tahiry you got the cover.’
Although Tahiry and Joe’s relationship seemed quite toxic, you can’t really hate on the fact that homegirl walked away with a seemingly successful modeling career.
