One part of alternative rock royalty, Courtney Love has been in the limelight not only for her music, but also for her personal struggles. After losing husband Kurt Cobain to suicide in April 1994, Love continued to raise the couple’s only child, Frances Bean. Though Love had her own struggles with drugs and alcohol abuse, the two seemed to be doing OK as mother and daughter. Unfortunately that all changed in 2009 when Bean was placed under temporary guardianship of Cobain’s mother and his sister after she made several inflammatory claims against her mother, including blaming her with the death of several pets. Love didn’t handle this particularly well, taking to Facebook and writing: “I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s**t has lost her position. She was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself… My daughter is not always honest.”
